Hi! I've been a Wyndham weeks owner for decades, and always put my week into RCI each year. Our home resort has closed. Now finding out there's a new points system for RCI with Wyndham and am wondering if anyone can tell me if 84,000 points Wyndham is giving us is going to get me a week anywhere??? Should I continue to use RCI or just try and vacation in the Wyndham properties? Feel like I'm being ripped off... no one can tell me what 84,000 points with RCI will get me. For Wyndham it seems like a full week in places we like to travel are much more than what we are being given... : (

I suspect you are not being offered RCI points, but instead Club Wyndham Access points. If you do not own any other Club Wyndham points, I would decline this offer. 84K is not enough to book much, and you will be paying a hefty Program Fee on top of high maintenance fees.

You are better off just letting go of Wyndham in your situation

Thank you for the two above replies...does anyone disagree? Feel horrible giving this up after so many years.... Trying to see what training power might be through R.C I... Found another thread on this site.I'm taking screenshots of RCI training would be for a few days up to a full week... fairly doable.I guess it's depends on timing of travel.

Trading power i meant

84K is not a lot. Just give it a bit of time others will reply think

Yes, I see the 84K doesn't get you anything.Other than like one night.... I'm not sure where this resort is though that you gave as an example... I was thinking to put the points into r c I to have a wider range of resorts that are not wyndham , to choose from , they might be much less.

This is the not new Club Wyndham points exchange chart for RCI. 84,000 points will get you a 2 bedroom in Quiet Season, a 1 bedroom in Value or Quiet season, etc. You may deposit the points each year for exchanges into higher value seasons and/or larger units.

If you trade your deeded week at the closed resort for 84,000 Club Wyndham Access points, your maintenance fees will be $711.48 plus the minimum program fee of $192 for an annual total of $903.48. How does this number compare to the maintenance fees you were paying for the fixed week?

It sounds like you want to continue timesharing. Although a long time owner, now would be an excellent opportunity to define what you want from timesharing by taking the quiz here:

There are multiple avenues to continue on with the CWA exchange for your deed, or buy a resale with Club Wyndham or elsewhere that might be a good fit for your future timesharing plans. If Club Wyndham has many of the destinations/resorts where you would like to stay, you can save the $299 RCI exchange fee by owning Club Wyndham points and booking directly through that system instead of exchanging.

Thank you so very much.I am going to take that quiz and see where my thoughts are after that....

You can always buy a week somewhere. You can probably get something better than what you had.

If I were you, I'd look for a Grandview in RCI points that has at least 98,000 pts and probably if you want / pay a bit you can get the coveted 122,000 pts. You like trading in RCI and this would likely be cheaper in the long run, especially if you're not going to get enough points to book direct via Wyndham.

The 2026 maintenance fees for Club Wyndham Access points are $8.47 per thousand points. The program fees are a minimum of $213 or $0.77 per thousand points for developer points and $192/$0.75 for resale points.

If you take the exchange and your points are developer for 2026 the maintenance fees and program fee on 84k CWA points are: $711.48 + $213 = $924 48.

There are some resorts in some seasons that 84k points will get you a full week in a studio, a one bedroom or a one bedroom deluxe. In a very few even a 2 bedroom deluxe in a value or quiet season.

If you deposit those 84k points in RCI, you pay an exchange fee when you book something with them. I think it's $299. Here's the chart to show what 84k points will get you.

Thank you... I can't believe how much everything costs ... : (

For all those who have responded so far, thank you. Sadly, I think this is such a rip off with the points they are giving us for our deeded weeks. They should have offered more as an incentive to stay with Wyndham. With my "week" we were always able to get a 2 bedroom ++ anywhere in Florida through RCI. NEVER had an issue. Got a 1 bedroom in Aruba, 2 bedroom in Mexico... sigh... I guess those days are gone. Still trying to figure out if this is worth it moving forward.

My guess is that they are offering you what your week would have required to book in the points system, and that seems fair to me.

Owners are not Wyndham's customers. Buyers are.

If it were me, I would decline the offer, and take whatever proceeds remain after the bankruptcy process concludes. That will be more than the week is worth, even if it is only $1. In the meantime, if you want to continue vacationing with Wyndham, look for a low-fee points deed/contract that you get get for pennies on the dollar. There are plenty of such opportunities out there.

You’re going to not find a lot of sympathy here, I think. I don’t mean to speak for others, but it seems that the general consensus here is that Wyndham didn’t need to offer you anything, and what they are offering is above and beyond. I’m not really part of that camp - I think Wyndham (as a corporation) sucks. That being said, I’m of the attitude that it is what it is and I’ll move on with life, and I was just happy to get the usage out of my ownership (and will continue to since I still have another two contracts). I got a lot of vacations in nice places for less than $100 a day for how I was able to work my membership. Like others said, I would decline the swap, and spend the time studying the system and figure out your next move. But, likely, a CWA swap is not it.

Good luck !

What week did you have and at which home resort?

If you are talking about Wyndham as in Club Wyndham (and not Wyndham as in Owner of RCI) and are swapping for 84,000 Club Wyndham Access then those points are enough to get a High (mid) season week in a studio at Ocean Walk, Daytona FL when booking through Club Wyndham just as one example.

Trading Wyndham points through RCI is fuzzier since there is a wider range in quality and resorts that fail to sell out early have clearance specials that get progressively better closer to check in. If you are flexible enough to travel wherever clearance rates take you then you can still get into a 2BR. Its just that your options might be limited to overbuilt areas (Orlando, etc) in mid/off season.

That said I think RCI-Points as a currency has 2.5-3x more power per point than Club Wyndham making 84,000 CWA loosely equivalent to an 28,000-33,500 RCI-points week. If you exclusively use your week/points to make RCI exchanges then you should let your current week go and check out the TUG Marketplace for a better/cheaper RCI trading replacement.

Thanks for your reply! We had a flex week , two bedrooms , superior at newport overlook. Rhode island..... And I am talking about wyndham access points.... I'm getting a lot of information that's good. And most people are pointing towards letting this week go.... I've looked at a lot of the places that wyndham owns , and we just can't get a two bedroom like we used to with our deeded week.
