Sudden reduced inventory in Interval in Orlando seen by unbranded timeshares

That's probably why. Those of us who own fixed weeks can search against them before we deposit.
Floating week owners can do the same but it probably depends on the resort or system. We own Marriott and can use the "dummy" search method with a date that is up to 18 months out.
Ah, ok, that makes sense!
I don't know about Park Regency, but Sheraton Desert Oasis owners should be able to search using a 2017 unit in My Units.

Right, I've noticed that SDO owners have posted about those types of searches, so I'm looking forward to having that option when we finally get ours into our account. Park Regency is a simple floating week and we don't have the option to search unless it is deposited.

So when you go into "My Units" there is no placeholder there for Park Regency?

I don't know what you mean by a "placeholder". There is an icon with our unit photo and II acronym. There is another icon of Park Regency below that that says "Usage 2027, float", and then there are options to deposit, exchange or "place request". For all of those options, II requires a reservation number from Park Regency to continue. So, no deposit, no viewing of availability.

eta: Under the first icon, there is a triangle with an exclamation point that says "Contact resort/club to obtain reservation or assignment"

We already have an exchange for later in the year with e-plus, so even though we've already exchanged, we can still view everything available within our eplus trading window, which is almost all of 2027.

If there is another trick to doing "dummy searches", I'm all ears.

You can possibly just use a "dummy" reservation number. Perhaps just use one that you've had from the past. Or if it is, say, 8-digits, just use 12345678. Once you find something that works, you can use it over and over. You just can't confirm an exchange or deposit with it as the resort will reject the deposit.

OMG, really? That seems so....sneaky!

Here's the response I received from Mark at II:
Thank you for your email and for sharing this information. We have reviewed your concern and have concluded there is no glitch.

Please keep in mind, the Exchange Program is based upon the “Comparable Exchange” concept. Comparable Exchange attempts to parallel, to the greatest extent possible, the supply of and demand for the vacation period relinquished to the Exchange Program with the supply of and demand for the vacation period being requested in exchange. Comparable Exchange also attempts to ensure that Members are confirmed, whenever possible, to resorts that are comparable in quality to the Home Resort. Factors such as the supply of and demand for, within the Exchange Program, the vacation period deposited (Deposit First) or being offered in exchange (Request First), and the Home Resort. Also, the supply of and demand for, within the Exchange Program, the vacation period and Member Resort being requested in exchange. The quality, facilities, and overall experience offered by the Home Resort as compared to the quality, facilities, and overall experience of the Member Resort being requested in exchange. This is based on evaluation forms received from exchange guests to the Home Resort, resort inspections and evaluations, and other information received by II regarding the Home Resort. The unit type and private sleeping capacity being relinquished as compared to the unit type and private sleeping capacity being requested. These factors and others, with the exceptions of when the Home Resort accommodations are relinquished, when a request is received, and the unit type and private sleeping capacity, are constantly changing and are updated by II on an ongoing basis.

As a result, members will experience different inventory search results based on their relinquishment. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

I had AI bullet point his response for easier consumption. Basically, trading power went down for some resorts.
  • There is no glitch — the system is working as intended
  • Interval uses something called “Comparable Exchange”, which means:
    • You don’t get access to all resorts equally
    • What you can see depends on what you’re trading in
  • Your exchange power is based on several factors:
    • Supply & demand of your deposited week
    • Supply & demand of the resort/week you’re trying to book
    • Quality of your home resort vs. the one you want
    • Unit size & sleeping capacity (what you gave vs. what you want)
  • Resort “quality” is determined by:
    • Guest reviews
    • Internal inspections
    • Interval’s own ratings/data
  • These factors are constantly changing, especially:
    • Supply & demand
    • Resort evaluations
  • Because of all that:
    • Search results can change over time
    • You may not see resorts you used to see before

This is so disappointing to hear. And it makes me worried about the future of Park Regency's trade power. We have been talking about deeding it back and this news kind of makes me think sooner rather than later may be in the cards for us.

If II continues to reduce Marriott’s, DVC, and Sheratons resorts how are the new Vacation Owners sales staff (timeshare sale staff) going to sell Marriott’s to new owners?

I've been searching using an MVC Grand Chateau and a Lakeshore Reserve and I have lost 3 pages of Orlando inventory. I don't see any of the Orlando Marriott's that I've always seen. It seems as if the problem hasn't been fixed for everyone. Is anyone else still having this issue.
Update - I called and the person at Interval can see all of the Orlando properties using my unit. She said it's a glitch but couldn't do anything about it. Ridiculous! It's been going on for a week and only affecting some people.

I can only see 2 pages of Orland timeshare as now, usually there are 5 pages of them. I use 2 adults as occupants with a E-plus exchange of Marriott Grande Vista 2 bedroom.

I reported the Orlando inventor issue to Mark at II earlier today. You can see the Marriott resorts, and others, if you search by resort codes.

Does exchanging a week from a "limited exchange activity" resort increase trade power?
Most of the resorts listed in II for Whistler BC (w/exception of a couple) are listed as limited exchange. I'm Buying into a peak summer 140 tdi with the goal to exchange (and/or use as its only 2 hours away from home).
Thanks
