I am thinking of getting rid of my contract. What is the best way to get rid of my contract?

I would first try to call the Certified Exit department at Wyndham (though not today, and maybe not on a Monday, and definitely first thing in the morning whenever you do call). Otherwise, offering it in the free timeshares forum here on TUG would be my next stop.

No need to pay transfer costs. I’d offer it for free first with buyer paying closing costs, and if no takers, then certified exit. Only need to pay transfer costs if Certified Exit refuses to take it for some reason.

fed up due to them closing many resorts in the Northeast and now we need to travel 7 to 8 hours for most resorts. We are hoping that they take it back. It just is not worth it for us. We are aging and not willing to fly.

The idea of getting away from home is to get away from home. If I don't go at least seven or eight hours away from home, there's no point in going. (Not totally true. We go to Williamsburg quite often. Only two hours plus DC metro area traffic time from home). I have two Wyndham resorts within twenty minutes (plus DC metro area traffic time) of home. Why go there?

It's good to have a mix of both.

I have Clearwater Beach as the closest resort at 45 minutes. the Orlando resorts 1 hour and a half away from my house (on a good day), Ocean Walk (Daytona) is 2 and a half to 3 hours, the Pompano resorts are 4 hours and PCB is 5, Destin is 5 and a half to almost 6 hours.

Everything else is a pretty good drive. Nashville, Smokey Mountains and Myrtle Beach is about 10 hours, Edisto is 9-9.5 ish. New Orleans and Williamsburg is 12, the DC Resorts are 13-14.

These are also very different "vacation profiles". If I don't want "beach" or "Orlando", i'm driving 10+ hours. But I also knew that going in. If I bought into the system knowing I had a certain vacation profile at multiple location within a 5 hour drive, i'd be pissed too.
