To possibly surrender your Vacation Village At Parkway, plead your case to them

I reached out to Vacatia a couple weeks ago and today received an email from the contract manager, Dolores Friss. The email address domain is vacatia.com. Does anyone received something similar? Is it legit?

My timeshare is Vacation Village at Weston and I would love to deed it back to Vacatia. Please update us if you choose to pursue this and let us know the outcome. Thanks!

I called the owners Resolution department at Vacation Village at Parkway to verify. They confirmed the employee exists and the process is true. It's actually 3 years of maintenance fees but since I already paid 2026 maintenance fee, the reduced it to 2 years. She said each location handles deedback differently so it's best you call their department. The number to VVP is 833.380.8703.

was this for parkway?

3 years is steep for sure, but its AN option, vs no option.

a facebook member posted they also got the same email for their Grandview ownership... this would be quite the bombshell announcement for vacatoin village owners if this option becomes available for all VV resorts.

I have RCI points account for my VVP, does anyone know what will happen to the points if I deed back to the resort? I still have points in the same account from other timeshare resort.

I am considering deeding back VVB but all my five years of unused RCI points would be forfeited...unless I have another RCI Points resort and can maintain an RCI Points membership. Since I only own at one RCI Points resort, I would lose my points. I am considering quickly purchasing some RCI points somewhere for a cheap MF then deeding back my VVB so I can use my RCI points and not lose them.

is your rci membership part of and paid for by vacation village? if its totally separate it shouldnt go away with the sale of your timeshare!

I acquired it through resale and paid the RCI membership and transfer fees directly to RCI.

They told you 3 to reduce it to 2.
They have told others it's 2 years.
They are just throwing numbers out there to see what sticks.
So apparently it's negotiable.
Some at Bonaventure have been able to get them to take it back with as little as just $200 in closing costs.
Negotiate it people, they want those Bonaventure units!
Not so much the other resorts, at least not yet.
Apparently they have plans for Bonaventure.

Would someone mind replying here for someone who uses our VVB points annually either for exchange or on property at a VV property - is there any advantage to VVB owners holding out/keeping their ownership to maintain rights to those deeds if Vacatia wants to do their plans with that property?

Please be careful. I've been receiving emails that look like they are from VV and are actually phishing attempts. They had actual reservation information but the email domain didn't look right so I contacted VV Parkway directly and they said it was fraudulent. Now I'm receiving emails asking me for additional payments to confirm my reservation. Don't just communicate by email or text. Call them directly from the phone number provided on their website.

My understanding from RCI is that per the RCI Points contract, you only have access to RCI Points if you own an RCI Points property. If you have unused RCI Points, when the deedback is final, the RCI Points disappear from RCI usage. This is different from how the RCI Weeks program works apparently. Once RCI Weeks TPUs are deposited, they continue to be available for use (until expiration) even after you sell ownership in the RCI weeks property(ies).

I have never heard this before? you should retain access to your RCI account if its not tied to your ownership (ie your fees are paid by your resort vs you).

should be an easy question to ask RCI and verify though!

Yes! I have an upcoming reservation and have received multiple of these phishing emails. Do not click on the link! Delete the email and call to report it directly to the resort. I did. I confirmed my reservation and they acknowledged that they are aware of the scam and investigating it.

I’m the same at Weston, have you heard back from anyone?

I might try to call and plead my case with them…

I have not tried yet, but I will post here when I do. My problem is I don't have a strong case to plead.

I’m the same. That said you would think that getting back the deed from free and reselling it to someone else would be incentive enough…
