Thanks to a post here, we are booked for late October via RCI Extra Vacations. Reading recent Trip Advisor reviews, several posts indicated that their bookings (one via Priceline) were cancelled within days of check-in.
Do I need to be concerned?
Just had a Galway Ireland VRBO cancelled 9/2 for a 9/6 arrival date so reading those reviews has me afraid of deja vu.

I would suspect that reservations through "RCI Extra Vacations" are pretty secure. To sleep better at night, I would call the resort to confirm your reservations

Given both RCI and Extra Vacations are owned and operated by Travel and Leisure (The same company that owns Worldmark), I have the most confidence with your reservation.

Part of the issue of Priceline and the other rental sites is around 3rd party rentals.

When in doubt, call to confirm.

Moab is awesome!

I checked out the reviews on TA, Google, and Yelp. It looks like it was just a few people over a holiday weekend, so hopefully it was a one-off, not a trend.

We have only stayed there once, and everything was fine so no personal experience of an issue with them. I would be pretty upset! That is unacceptable.

Over on wmowners.com I remember reading of this happening to owners with reservations, but that was a while ago. The reservation system for Moab was broken and showed ghost availability that folks were able to book that was later cancelled. I have not heard of this happening in quite a while, so I think they fixed the problem with reservations.

Moab is a great place to visit. The resort is located within a few miles from Canyonlands and Arches National Parks. Canyonlands regional airport is also a good option to fly into instead of driving from Salt Lake City. Timed entry into the national parks is not needed if entering before 7am or after 4pm.

Check in was easy. One difference is the resort requires a $250 deposit at check in for RCI exchanges. Our group is here for Jeep Badges and the gravel parking lot in the north area is perfect for the trailers including the 32 ft trailers for two Jeeps. I was going to tow my Jeep but decided to rent one from Jen's Jeeps instead. I'm glad I did. My rental is a 2025 Rubicon with 37 inch tires. I've had no problems doing all allowed obstacles.

We have three units. The two bed units are next door to each other. The one bed is in a different building and has an air hockey table in the unit. The pool area is nice with three hot tubs. BBQ's and gas fire seating areas are very nice.

I'm certain you will love this resort.

Thanks so much for your post and love the photo!
We have a little over 3 weeks to hope that the shutdown ends since visiting Arches, Canyonlands and Capitol Reef were why Worldmark Moab was on our bucket list. There does seem to be other natural areas nearby that we can visit in lieu of the national parks, but......

Access to the parks *might* still be available during the shutdown. But most services, such as visitor centers, would definitely be closed.

I agree that you will probably have access to hiking, just not the visitor centers and any permit hikes (I suspect). Btw, I listen to a podcast from a couple who does a lot of travel to national parks and they have a number of good episodes on the Arches/Canyonlands/Capitol Reef areas, including nearby state parks. https://www.thedearbobandsuepodcast.com/ Check out episodes 142, 113, 98 (Canyonlands), 92, 77 (Capitol reef), 66 (Arches), 36, 11, and 3. I hope that it's a great trip!

The parks were open today. We ditched our Jeep group and went to Arches the Canyonland. There is no one taking money at the gates at either park and all gates were open and unattended because of the shut down. Firey Furnace in Arches was open and many people without permits displayed were heading down. We arrived at Arches at 8.30 this morning and left at 1.30 after hiking the Devils Garden. We made it to Canyonland and went down Shafer Switchbacks to Potash Road.

Last night we were at the Windows watching the sunset. It's so beautiful out there. We might head over to Arches tonight when the stars come out.

"Arches National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Capitol Reef National Park and Zion National Park will be open, but reduced services and staffing are imminent. Reservations will still be required at some national parks."

Moab is on the top priority list after I finish Estes Park and Banff next year.

It didn’t look like availability was that hard to find in Moab. what is your favorite times to go to Moab? I was thinking early November next year would be a good time, not too hot but still good hiking weather.

We are going on a Road Trip next Spring. The main stops (each a week or longer) Park City, Moab, and St George. The starting point is Salem Oregon.

Should be great weather although it may snow in the Needles district (did have a major snowstorm one time we went). Arches & Island in the Sky should be ok..

Did you all know that you are allegedly losing access to 39 units at Moab.

Allegedly "reprovisioned" to be the new "Eddie Bauer Adventure Club"?

Should have come back to post after our October trip during the shutdown. I did post a TUG review.

We had a wonderful time starting in Grand Junction at Camp Eddy in a tiny home. While there we visited Colorado National Monument and enroute to Moab via a circuitous route stopped at Black Canyon of the Gunnison Nat'l Park, stopping at all the vistas. I highly recommend both places.

In Moab our first stop was Dead Horse Point State Park- the $20 admission for a carful allowed us to return the next day. DH left in the wee hours and returned to Worldmark with amazing sunrise photos. This park is a must if you are staying in Moab!
Canyonlands visitor center was manned by an unpaid ranger! The only hike we did there was to Mesa Arch but we did drive to the end of the road. Frankly, it was a blessing that due to the shutdown there was no timed, reserved admission to Arches! Three visits there- Panorama Point for the night sky, Balanced Rock and the Windows, and lastly the Devils Garden area. Great picnic areas at all three parks.

Another fascinating place is Utahraptor State Park- for me the exhibit on the area's use as a Japanese Internment camp was a reminder of how the past predicts the present.
