HI Car Rental Recommendations

The one and only time I rented a car from a local agency in Hawaii, the car had roaches - lots of roaches. It was the stuff of nightmares. I couldn't return the car fast enough. (Still gives me the willies thinking about it.) I deal with name-brand rental agencies now, and I've had no problems.

I have a 12 day midsized car reserved for Thanksgiving from Makoa Rental in Maui for $600. We have used Aloha Maui a couple times and liked them. Some of our past trips we've Uber'd the entire time.

Do they offer a fleet of cars in case there is an issue with one of them, or are they more like Turo and only have a car or two to rent out?
