LIMITLESS VACATIONS

It's because the buyers were lured in to the presentation with a gift. The buyers came for the gift and don't want to leave without it. So the sales people just hold on to the gift until the buyers are worn down, even if it takes longer than the originally agreed-upon 90 minutes.

Please tell me the Salespeople didn't lie about the gift? Or how much time?

..... I'm sure they will tell the full and complete truth about the "deal" they are pitching.

Honestly, the idea of a timeshare should be an easy sale. It’s just the 10x+ price markup that messes with people.

They don't lie about the gift. The buyers still get the gift no matter what. The time is one of the lies, but it's not really the sales people who tell these lies. It's the front desk people or the body snatchers at the airport. They tell the buyers it's just a 90-minute presentation. However, there is no enforcement for the 90-minute limit. The sales people know this and they exploit it. It looks like you joined TUG less than two months ago. If you could just read some of the horror stories others have told here on TUG how these "90-minute" presentations turned into four or five hours, well...

I will disagree with you that "the idea of a timeshare should be an easy sale". A sales person or team basically has 90 minutes or so to convince a couple to spend, on the spot, $25,000 or so, of money they don't have on something they don't really need, and is worth anywhere from negative value to about $1000.

Is it any wonder many sales people resort to such low sales tactics?

Just an updated on my status. For now I have sent emails with attached signed rescind letters to both Limitless Vacations in Arizona assuming the contract is governed by the Limitless Vacations Terms and Conditions, and to Vidanta Customer service in case it is governed by Mexico law ARTICLE 56 of Ley Federal de Protección al Consumidor.

I CCd consumerinfo@azag.gov for the Limitless Vacations email (Arizona) and extranjeros@profeco.gob.mx for the Vidanta email. I received an acknowledgement email from Vidanta customer service, so I have a record that they received the email.

Limitless vacations state in their T&C that email is sufficient to cancel, and ARTICLE 56 of Ley Federal de Protección al Consumidor. state in person, registered mail "and by other reliable means". So I'm assuming an email that they have acknowledged receiving is considered a "reliable means".

So it looks like I have all my bases covered?
What email addresses did you send your notice of recission to?

I almost bought this limitless vacations membership, but I got cold feet when they told me my account would take up to a month to be activated.

They offered
  • 2 Vidanta weeks + fees
  • 2 Weeks at international hotels for $499 each week
  • Savings through the website limitless vacations / gofreedomclub
  • A total "refund" as credit to spend on the booking website (limitlessvacations)
They offered all this for $1,985 USD.
My question is: Have anyone actually used these 2 weeks to book a hotel successfully?

They promised that I could even book extremely expensive hotels at peak season (such as the The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park during Xmas-New Years week) for this same fee of $499 USD
This sounds too good to be true, what's the catch here? Did I miss something?

Hello all,

I'm new to this forum, but I found it because I was specifically looking for information on Limitless Vacations / ICE / VIDANTA / Vida Vacations. I've read through this entire thread, and it seems like many people fell into the same situation I did. Most of this thread focuses on rescinding the purchase within 5 days. However, we purchased our package several years ago (2020), which is obviously well outside the 5 day window. We took advantage of the free Vidanta week that came with the package, and now we're left with the 10 weeks we purchased that give us the right to book a vacation at a VIDANTA for a set rate lower than the rates advertised on their website. We also have a bunch of different tiered cruises for different prices and amounts of days. I don't remember our exact deal, but I think it was something a long the lines of 10 VIDANTA Weeks, 1 free VIDANTA week, several cruise options, and a yearly Limitless Vacations membership at $X per year (I can't remember the price). This was $10k and paid for with a loan they set us up with through a trusted US lender. We have since paid off this entire loan. We're currently paying $134 per month towards some add on package with Limitless that will give us several hundred thousand "points" to spend on the limitless website for flights, vacations, rental cars, etc. It's been an expensive and painful lesson in this timeshare world (even though they market this package as NOT a timeshare). I feel like I'm hopelessly stuck.

The first time I tried to redeem one of these cruises, I got on the phone with their cruise specialist to book. After I was given the final price, I went to the Princess website to see how much money I would be saving. The price was nearly identical. The agent on the phone did the same thing once I told her, and she said, "It's not usually like that." I went on to explain how the Limitless cruise would actually be more expensive because I already paid a bunch of money to get these "discount cruises." So we went and checked a couple other cruises during the dates we were interested in and none of them were cheaper than if I just booked through the cruise line's website.

Side note: there is also a dedicated, discounted cruise website called Vacations To Go that has prices on cruises better than Limitless, and it's free to peruse the cruises on that website.

Another detail I might add: the agent on the phone could only view my package through an administrative lens. So her screen looked different than mine on the computer regarding my account and my cruises. I was told my cruises had a 10 year expiration. But each cruise week had an "activate now" button next to it. I asked the agent what this button did, and see she said she could not see it on her screen. I asked her if anything was going to happen if I pressed activate now, and she said it should not change anything with with those cruise certificates. However, when I activated them all (in order that I might see more details about that cruise), The expiration went from 10 years to one year from the day I activated. I did not notice this until after I hung up with the agent. I have no record of our conversation. When she told me that I would still have 10 years to use my cruises, other than at the beginning of the call, it said we would be on a recorded line. But I have nothing in writing that proves that she told me I would still have 10 years to use my cruises. But now, it looks like I have to use all 10 cruises within one year. Obviously, this is not possible nor desired.

I have not called Limitless yet to see if they can change this back. It has been a headache ever since we bought this package of our vacation weeks and our cruises. As I said, we haven't used anything but the one free vacation they gave us that went with the package.

While I'm sure what we bought was legit, we feel like we have been duped, and this has been more of a headache than a blessing. We want out of the deal. So I have several questions for this forum:

1) Is there any way out at this point where we can recoup any of our money?

2) Does anybody know if there's a company, whether it's Limitless or somebody else, that will "buy" our weeks or our cruises back from us? Maybe they would want to offer to buy them back at a lower rate than what they sold them to us for, that way they have them to offer to sell to somebody else? Listing them on Airbnb doesn't work, and Airbnb suspended my account when I tried to rent out my weeks because I was acting as a "broker" because I needed to call VIDANTA to check their availability before someone booked my week on Airbnb.

3) Is there any sense in consulting a lawyer in this matter? I imagine these types of things have faced many lawsuits over the years. Are these companies pretty well protected with their terms and conditions?

Everyone has been helpful reading the forum to this point. Hopefully @T-Dot-Traveller or someone else in this forum has knowledge about my situation and not just what to do during the 5 day rescind period?

Sadly you won't be able to recoup any of your hard earned money, and no one will buy your weeks from you. Consulting a Lawyer will only cause you to spend a lot more money and it's highly likely that you'll be wasting your time and money.

The best move may be to cut your losses and walk away (maybe run away).

Remember, no one owns Timeshares in Mexico, but you do own the right to use the time you purchased as long as you keep paying their fees. Basically you own a vacation membership.

Best of luck!

Hi @tiredoflimitless
Welcome to TUG

Your purchase of LV was in 2020 . Have you paid the annual membership fee [ ~ $99] ?

In my opinion there may be a residual value in the 10 weeks of access to “ Vidanta Weeks “
The “ value “ would depend on what is the current LV cost of booking a week & is going to vacation at Vidanta something you wish to do .

Since your 2020 purchase Vidanta has further
adjusted their resort fee structure with RCI and
SFX and there is apparently no exchange listings with Intervals International .

PS - I don’t believe LV Vidanta Access weeks can be rented or sold - as the fine print likely says for personal use only .
