What is your favorite movie soundtrack?

I agree with many that have been listed. Here is another classic: Star Wars

Last of the Mohicans soundtrack is pretty great. Academy Award winner for best sound.

Good Morning, Vietnam! (Spotify soundtrack)

Count me as another who came here to say, also, The Big Chill and Forrest Gump. :)

Rudy, rocky, the greatest showman, pirates of the Caribbean, moana, Aladdin, the lion king

Ah! Pretty in Pink and Almost Famous!! Love both of those!!

For me: Flashdance. A Moroder classic. Also E.T. sountrack. I had to re-acquire the Flashdance disk for sentimental reasons and it's easily done but the E.T. soundtrack though..

And Sixteen Candles

John Hughes captured the 1980's in Chicago.
My favorite movie starring my distant cousin.

I like the old timey music on O Brother, Where Art Thou?

I will absolutely side with The Blues Brothers -- and I will add Casino Royale to the list (the first one, starring Peter Sellers & David Niven).

Grosse Point Blank (80's songs)

10 Things I Hate About You (late 90's alternative rock)

Dick (70's songs)

Kurt

Shrek 1
Ella Enchanted
The Graduate
Gnomeo & Juliet
Top Gun

Oh yeah, The Graduate. Played that 8 track in my car over and over.

Roger Ebert, of the movie review fame, had the following quote on their original review in 1967 when the movie came out: "[the movie direction's] only flaw, I believe, is the introduction of limp, wordy Simon and Garfunkel songs". Decades later, he wrote that his initial perception of the movie soundtrack was wrong.

Chariots of Fire. I have the theme song as my cell ringtone.

Lost City.

A mediocre film, but with an excellent score.

Wow, this thread is a blast from the past. I'll add:

Footloose
Eddie and the Cruisers
Hercules (Disney 1997). The sound track was fun, and it won awards for Best Original Song.

Greatest Showman for modern musical.

Love the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtracks.
