What happens to anti-maskers after the pandemic?

The so-called freedom rallies are just the latest outlet for a small group of people to express their rage at things that are out of their control.

“It doesn’t really matter what the specific grievances are,” he said. “It’s the identification with grievances, with having them, the kind of enjoyment of protesting” that keeps them demonstrating most weekends.

He said anger was the “underlying fuel that builds people’s engagement.”

I was wondering the same thing. They have their own judgements to pass, so where will that be directed now?

At our house we were recently asking -
what did we & other people talk about before Covid?

some of this “ stuff” falls under the concept of :
“Solutions looking for a problem”

I, for one, take it off. Why is this a question?

Cheers

Antimaskers will find something else to complain about when/now that mask mandates are lifted. Many are shifting to being antivax.

Many maskers say they plan to continue masking during flu season because it seemed to have killed the flu, along with vaxxing etc. I might continue to mask in indoor public places but honestly I'm just going to avoid a lot of indoor public places in the future - forever. I've developed some new habits and I'm keeping them: curbside is my style now and I'm not going back!

I just hate that people are lumped together. Some people on each side misbehave, but judgements are slung at everyone of opposing thought, including predictions of future behavior.

I have a large storage box on my patio that could be used for a coffin.
... Just sayin'.

Being an antimasker isn't a 'side.' It is dangerous, anti-social behavior. People who behave recklessly now are very likely to behave recklessly in the future. And many are doing exactly that.

These are the behaviors that antimaskers do:
- go to antimask rallies,
- yell in grocery stores about masks,
- spit at people when they ask you to put on a mask,
- lie about health conditions to get out of wearing a mask,
- wear fake masks that aren't protective,
- call CPS on parents who have their kids wear masks,
- lie about being vaccinated to get out of wearing a mask,
- yell at people to take off their masks.

Choosing not to wear a mask in low risk situations where other people can easily avoid you (like outside) isn't being an antimasker.

Avoiding places with mask mandates isn't being an antimasker.

Questioning the efficacy of masks isn't being an antimasker.

Being irritated at the inconsistency of mask guidelines isn't being an antimasker.

That is your definition of anti-masker. (I wear one, by the way). But some people don’t and are peaceful and just go about life. Yet they are considered anti-maskers by many.

"Going about your business and refusing to wear a mask" in situations that are NOT low risk is NOT "peaceful." It's dangerous, anti-social behavior.

No one will call you an antimasker if you just stay home or if you avoid places where masks are recommended.

You say "anti-social behavior" like it's a bad thing.

I could be what one would call an "anti-masker" as I hate wearing one and will ONLY wear one when it is required of me yet I have not done a single thing on your list. Here we go again with trying to fit people into your nice little label.

"Recommended" is a huge cry from "Required".
just saying

FWIW, I couldn't care less what someone calls me or thinks of me. I follow the "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" theory in life.

But words do hurt people. And think of all those offended by words. It’s cool to be offended these days.

Words only hurt you if you allow them to. Someone can call me a name and I can choose to cry or laugh in their face......my choice. So if someone chooses to be offended, that was their choice. Many people choose poorly these days.

When someone calls my DW a name or is mean to her, she whines to me.
I say... You can't make a person be who they ought to be.
So, just put 'em on your enemies list and wait for your revenge.

Who dropped the ball and has not made wearing masks in public a law in the United States? those who do not fine them no excuse no bs and be done with it.

Why should people listen to you, a non-resident and non-citizen of the US, on what laws we should or should not have? What mask laws are there in the country you are living?

Need to wear in public (inside and out). Why should anyone listen to anyone?

Actually, reputations have been damaged by untrue words. The victim can’t always reach everyone who heard them.
I’m seeing it in our local politics. Election coming up soon.
