The Cuomo brothers put on quite a show. Should the journalism-ethics police shut it down?

A month ago, it would have seemed unlikely — ridiculous, even — that the most riveting duo in America would be the Empire State’s combative governor and his kid brother, the wide-eyed cable-news host.

But here we are.

New York’s Andrew, 62, who leads the state with far and away the most covid-19 cases and deaths, is appearing almost daily on live television to explain the grim numbers on his Power Point slides and dispense soulful guidance about staying socially distant but spiritually connected.

CNN’s Chris, 49, is infected with coronavirus but continued to broadcast his evening show from the basement of his home, where he is quarantined and sometimes feverish.

Together on the air their pointed-but-affectionate sparring has been surprisingly addictive viewing....

It cracks me up when Andrew makes disparaging remarks about Chris only working an hour a day. If I understood him correctly while I was doing other things while listening to Chris tonight, he attributes trying to stay upright and out of bed as much as he could with keeping his lungs mostly clear.

My Hubs, fellow NYer, watches him faithfully. My advice to him is focus on his health. A friend, same age, is slowly recovering from being on a respirator for 2wks. Ratings aren’t worth it.

I am not sure of the total make up of his family but he mentioned his 17 year old daughter is stepping up.

“Families all over know the reality our family faces,” he tweeted. “Few are one case and done.”

While it’s unclear how Cristina, 50, contracted the virus, the New York governor said it was “inevitable” that someone else in his younger brother’s home would come down with the coronavirus.

“It’s very hard for a person to quarantine in a home and other people not to get infected,” he said. “To do it in a home where a person is bringing you dishes, bringing you food, even if they’re wearing a mask and gloves, that virus can live on some surfaces up to two days.”

I think it is easier to catch COVID-19 within the same home even with the sick person sectioned off because COVID-19 is highly contagious and they are contagious when asymptomatic. When one of us has a cold we are usually very successful in not passing on to the other person.

Funny to note that Chris is probably making 10 times more money than Andrew. His job is more fun, less work, less responsibility.
IMO he is also not smarter than his brother and he does not have any special talent (not TV for sure).
