I have been a looky loo for a while, enjoying the posts & information others have posted on this forum, but now I am in a bit of a pickle & would like a little advice, if you would be so kind.

I have already smacked myself for buying into Hellsgate, luckily it was the exit package so it wasn't too bad. They kept us there for 6 hours & we bought it to get ther hell out of there.

I have 3days/4night package, fought like hell to finally get them to allow me to stay at the Towers which had been stated as a choice in my contract. I was all booked for this Feb & got the paperwork & bought the stupid travel insurance for my trip. I was happy that our money wasn't that much of a throw away, but then I get a nice letter in the mail today that, my reservation has been changed for Flamingo Bay without our approval.

Any suggestions on how I could get them to change it back or anything else I could do? I would love to sue them & get our money back, but I realize even though we were lied to that it was our fault for buying it in the first place.
I had already booked other rooms for family there & so they really screwed this up for us. What is the best way to fix it or is it a loss?

Thank you in advance for the help.

What does the contract say about their ability to make unilateral changes of the accommodations?

Oh my, all too typical "Wastegate" move. I have to assume that the recent sell off of the "crown jewel" of the Kings empire means they no longer have sales inventory to offer at the TOT.

As that was a key reason you accepted an otherwise low value package I would go after them full barrel to get what they promised. Be as nice as you can - they will be very obnoxious so you need to be aware and not sink to their low level - but keep insisting as high as you need to go that you get what you both agreed to. They have inventory but are most likely trying to minimize the assignment to those that they are most likely to coerce into a "real" sale of their overpriced and basically worthless resorts.

It won't be easy and they will throw up every roadblock they possibly can but you have to demand they honor the original deal. It's not your fault they are borderline crooks, misrepresent virtually every thing and had to sell what they built or go bankrupt. Good luck and, as you know, NEVER deal with Wastegate again as a potential owner.

I am sure it says in there that they can do anything they want & somewhere on page 4, I probably sold my soul to the devil.
*shakey fist* Damn you timeshare & pampas buffet!

Indeed. I will try, I will cry on the phone if i have too, lol. It was our first timeshare & even though I had heard the stories I had been caught off guard & the boyfriend wanted to do it, I should've stopped him, but...life lesson.

Oh yes, I have dealt with the roadblocks already & have considered a lawsuit before when they did not want to give the room to me in the first place, but that would solve nothing since fine print probably states they can do what they want. I am just thankful that we couldn't afford being an owner because after all I have seen and heard....wow. I pray a class action will start because this company is crooked. Thanks for the help, both of you.

Basically is a no-go. They said there was no way to do it since they have sold all their remaining interests...blah, blah, blah. I cancelled for Flamingo Bay which I wouldn't stay at if they paid me to. So I guess my best bet is to sell it to someone or Sundance 2013 here I come.

If you join TUG for a modest 15 bucks you can have access to reviews of timeshare resorts including Flamingo Bay - it might suit your needs. Funtime
