Has anyone ever bought a timeshare on the timeshare Resale Sites. I have made offers and asked questions on three sites for several timeshares “For Sale” and received the auto reply. Your question has been sent to owner etc. etc. And that’s the end of it. No replies at all. Any input would be appreciated.

I bought on EBay, went thru a broker in Texas, high closing costs but the timeshare was only $100 so agreed. Also got a HHV thru broker in FL. Who was recommended here. Hardest part is not getting scammed. My bank did not want to release the funds.

There are a few sites such as "sellmytimesharenow" that do this. They seem like they have tons of inventory, but don't respond. Actually, I got one response from someone claiming to be a "buyer's agent". :-/ I am skeptical they are advertising legitimate listings.

I recently had good communications with sellers through Redweek, eBay and TUG marketplace. Just purchased a unit from TUG marketplace. I also know Syed from Advantage Vacation (I believe that's his website) is recommended on these boards.

SMTN just keeps taking in listings from more and more people that pay them a thousand dollars or more. They all sit out there overpriced and never get removed. Some have probably been listed for a decade or more. The owners have forgotten, moved on or might not even own anymore.

Makes total sense.

I purchased from Syed, good communication and paid the asking price which was below average. Seth Nock's site is another respected source.

I bought off E*Bay from legacytimeshares and buyandselltimesharescom. Both were good experiences.

I have bought quite a few from various sellers on eBay. Never had a real issue though sometimes it takes a rather long time for the points or week to show up. I generally only buy resales into systems where I already own.

We have bought several timeshares on ebay over the years with never a problem. We have NEVER purchased a timeshare retail at the presentation "table" thanks to tug. Just take the gift and run!

Some of these sites to not make money by selling timeshares. Some of them make money by listing timeshares. Once they are listed, the site's job is done, so there is no reason to do any more work!

I've acquired mine through either ebay (via a postcard company's liquidator), a well-known name in the resale business (Big Tommy, but he's been out of the game for a long time now), or "adopted" them from other TUGgers who were giving them away. I did buy one through a broker, but that was DVC---there's enough demand for those for brokers to be able to make something on a commission.

Currently closing on a Fidelity Realestate listing.

Got billed a $350 buyer payed convenience fee for the agent to act as an intermediary between buyer/seller (translation: to prevent buyer/seller from discovering the others contract info until after signing a buyer agreement

What did you buy? I was looking at Fidelity HGVC listings but they were very expensive.

182K Club Wyndham Panama City Beach.

The agents were always prompt with answering questions, but the it was sometimes slow getting an offer/question to the sellers and a response back.

This is a bit vague. If you tell us the specific sites you are considering, as well as concerns questions, people can give better feedback. If the listing is not guaranteed by someone you trust, you need to do good due diligence.

Most likely use TUGBBS, Redweek and Ebay. We bought 2 off Redweek and 1 off ebay.
