I have found most of these antennas are mediocre at best. My MIL bought one of these antennas that was advertised though AARP. Complete junk.

I have tried the Moho Leaf - which is supposed to be the best regarded of these types of antennas - did very little. Maybe if I lived in Philly or NYC, rather than between them, it would get something.

A diy antenna works as good as most of these indoor antennas, imo. Pretty much all of the TV programs we watch are streamed so we can choose what's on.

Just another TV antenna
Designed to work with Over the air digital broadcast signals (DTV)
My current DTV antenna cost me $7.19
It works well
The TV Transmitting Towers in my area are 11 miles away and are not obscured by hills or buildings

To find out where the broadcast towers are in your area use this link

I've had this antenna for three years and get excellent reception:

Antennas Direct ClearStream 2V Indoor Outdoor TV Antenna UHF VHF Multi-Directional

It feeds into an amplifier that splits to four outputs onto TiVo, Tablo DVRs and the TV directly. I live about 40 miles from the transmitters with no obstructions.

I get many channels with many repeats, but there are a lot of old classic TV shows available, especially on MeTV which now has expanded to three subchannels.

I used to have DirecTV and I do not miss:
  • Rain fade
  • Renewal fights when channels are dropped from the lineup because of disputes
  • Price increases
I do subscribe to streaming services, but I can drop them when I want and get the content I want. (Yes, I'm talking about you, Netflix)

Ours is the same. Lowes I think. My problem is we live too close to the transmitters. Most of our TV channels are shopping, Spanish and Christian. The major networks all have a few channels too. We rarely watch TV with it. Sea Hawks are the exception even thought it's hard to watch this season.

I will say that all the over the air channels we get now is like what cable was when it first came out, without the cost, but without the channels that people subscribe to modern cable for.

The hotel we stayed at on our recent road trip to Florida stated that they no longer had cable or satellite TV and guests would need to use their own streaming device. That was clearly stated on their website so guests could see it before booking. DH didn't want to get our firestick out nor cast from his phone so he took the TV's remote and went to the settings where he found the place to search for over the air channels. We ended up with over 60 of them as we were near a pretty good sized city. We had no trouble watching TV all evening and getting the local news channel in the morning for weather and traffic reports before we headed out.
When we were checking out the woman at the front desk asked if everything was ok during our stay. DH told her about being able to get dozens of the over the air channels on the TV. The woman was amazed and wanted to write down how he did that so their maintenance guy could set up the other TVs to also get them.
