I attended a wyndham presentation two days ago. A couple things sounded too good to be true. I have 486k resale points. The sales shark told me if I bought 126k developer points I would have a hybrid account and be able to book all my points as VIP by transferring points to the new vacation club / travel leisure account

She also told me I could sell excess points back to Whyndham for "minimum" of $250 per night , about 30k points. She said these are new programs that came after the Travel Leisure merger. I am very skeptical

Sales' crap. No program exists that guarantees income like that. Wyndham's salespeople should be kept to a higher standard.

Even if you buy new points your resale points will still be marked as resale and would have no additional benefits or privileges. If you get vip at all it will only be temporary. Only your bonus points and retail points would be vip. As far as I know you don't transfer vacation club points, retail or resale to the travel and leisure account. The travel and leisure account uses cash not points. There is no selling points back to Wyndham. You retail points may be able to convert to $2.10 per 1000 points in alt benefits. So that 30k might get you $63 worth of benefits if converted.

I wonder if anyone else has been pitched this ? I attended a presentation last year and it was not mentioned. The saleshark said it was all new
