We have been happy with our unit which was out of the north wind most of the week. Saturday was 89 degrees, Monday and Tuesday mid-50s days but a nice stay.

We were lucky to catch a cancelation a few weeks ago. It was nice to miss the big blizzard in New England.

Curious -- were you upgraded to the presidential reserve unit? Several years ago, I was told by staff that there could be no upgrades to PR units at Emerald Grande. Different HOA or something like that.

Yes, we were but we're PR owners and I upgraded at the time of booking. The automatic upgrades from standard units to PR units don't work there and haven't for 4-5 years, might be longer. The Sunset Suites units will sometimes upgrade at the time of booking but sometimes won't. The East units upgrade for me. I haven't tried to see if the West units will or won't.

I've had this view before. Love Oceanside, it's also pretty cool at night if you take a picture from the kitchen. You can see the pier lit up by all the lights. We'll be back this summer. No one is there, must have been early morning.

What floor were you on? Looks like 5th or 6th floor.
