Wyndham View From the Balcony

Ocean Boulevard, Tower 4, #713. Ocean view between Towers 2 & 3

Edit: BTW, the rain stopped and the sun actually shined the afternoon of October 13.

I instantly recognized the balcony at Sea Gardens Ocean Palms. I've stayed in one of those rooms on the side where you kind of have an intercoastal view and if you stretch your head out you can also see a sliver of the ocean.

Those wrought iron chairs and tables get HOT in the summer sun.

Ocean Palms is my preferred section there though.

Pretty sky this evening at Towers on the Grove, Unit #530. Arrived this morning at 1:02 AM.

I almost took a picture of the empty parking lot at Palm Aire that I was charged $25 / night to park in
Maybe I shouldn't have used the laughing face because it's not funny. But I thought you posting a picture would be.

Save that one of OIRC for posterity!

It is unfortunate that the exterior of OIRC looks like a cheap (Wyndham!) motel. The units themselves are spacious and well-equipped and the resort has a good range of activities. One thing I noticed today that I had not remembered. The pool depth is 3'6" at the shallow end and 8'6" at the deep end. Not a pool for tots to play in.

This afternoon, they passed out ice cream sandwiches at the pool. Every evening at 6 PM they have fresh-baked cookies in the lobby.

The first (only) time I went there, I got there at like 10pm, it was dark obviously, the place looked like a run down Days Inn or some time forgotten section 8 apartment complex like I would have lived in College. Some of the parking lot lights were burned out, the office was dark, there was a sign on the door to "Call this phone number for service". I call it, and about 10 minutes later, somebody drives up carrying some take out (dinner), opens the office and checks me in.

We got a downstairs room right by the pool. The room itself was VERY dated but spaceous and well kept up. You are right about the storage space/pantry capacity. We had a little porch which we could walk out to the pool. We were only there for 2 days and it was for a Universal trip, so we were not in the room much. And admittedly it looked a little better during the daytime from the exterior.

But first impressions were a "no way". It's not one I will miss. I will miss Star Island more for sure. Star Island was quirky, but every time I stayed there was good.

You were on the ground floor of the building closest to the beach? You had a much better view than ground floor units at some oceanfront resorts. Dunes and foliage tend to be in the way.

We'll be there for two weeks starting December 20.

I've asked to have this thread merged with the other Balcony thread. I have no idea why I started this one in the first place.

Lake Marion (again), Unit 416. White blobs in the second pix are egrets. They are tiny, barely perceptible in the first one.

Royal Vista, Unit #5514. It has been very breezy, which you can see from the palms.

This was from R153 at Shawnee. It may be my last visit there or maybe I will get one more in January at Fairways. It all depends on when Wyndham is actually closing that section for members.
