Hey guys,

So last January I bought a resale for wyndham off ebay, and while I expected the transfer to take awhile, I got a letter from Wyndham in June saying the transfer was complete, then got an email from RCI saying an account was setup shortly after... I tried calling and calling Wyndham and around July finally was able to get an account to log into Wyndham... cool again, it's moving along but it didn't show any payments due from what I could see. They're customer service is painful to work with!

Just before the holidays I got an email from a collection agency saying I owed about $600 to Wyndham plus $200+ in collection fees. So I logged into the account, and no where in the club wyndham does it show any balances due, so I called Wyndham and they told me the account was suspended and that I had to deal with the collection agency to get the account paid up and it would be activated again.

Now I haven't talked to the collection guy yet, and I'm pretty sure they are going to want their fees, but has anyone dealt with this before, or have any suggestions on how to approach collection agency or wyndham? Will they cancel the $200+ in fees? Any way to talk to Wyndham directly? When I talked to customer service, they jsut wanted to transfer me over to collection guy, which I sat on hold for 10 minutes and hung up... so I haven't talked to them yet.

Thoughts or suggestions welcome...

I'm confused. Your transfer completed in JUNE, you have never paid any maintenance fees, at all, since the transfer completed, and you are surprised they are coming after you?

Call them, log into your account, call tne number in there under contacts, they will put you through to the people who can give you instructions on how to pay what you owe.

My experience (not collections, but messed up paymentus billing) was NOT a good one. It's very had to talk to the right person to get things done. It took multiple calls and multiple people and ????? minutes/hours on the phone.

No, Wyndham is new to me, I never received any invoice in the mail and going through emails, I received a couple documents from them about the transfer being completed and RCI, but not an actual invoice saying to pay $X. It is a biennial contract with the even years, so I didn't go looking for it too hard since I figured they only invoiced in the even year, also I'm from Canada and don't know how they work quite yet

June to December is really not that much time, and to go to collections they would need multiple attempts to try to collect, before sending it to collections. I wouldn't blame the victim, here. I have never heard of collections coming after someone for six months of anything in arrears, BTW, especially not $600.

My experiences with Wyndham Financial is that they are totally incompetent. They simply look at their computer screen and Parrot whatever is there. Years ago according to my Records my Contract was paid off. When I called they said I still owed about 3 years of payments. Over several days I got bounced from Office to Office. All of them simply said the same thing. I was wrong and that I still owed 3 years of payments. Growing more and more frustrated I finally contacted an acquitenance that knew several VP's at Wyndham. Within 24 hours I was informed that I was correct and the Account was paid off. When I asked the person that called me to inform me my Account was in fact paid off how did the wrong payoff date get entered into their computer system. His silly as* excuse was that there must have been an error during one of the System Upgrades. I have always wondered how many other people had happen to them but they didn't not notice. One way for Wyndham to collect $100,000's extra.

If it’s a points contract, billing begins monthly as soon as the contract is transferred into your account. As a biennial contract that’s still the case, billed as half the annual amount each year (so for example, a biennial contract that gives you 154,000 points in even years is billed as 77,000 points every year, divided monthly).

As a long time Fairfield/Wyndham/TNL owner I have experienced the best of times and now the worst of times. The latest dilemma is losing 5 weeks to closure, having to cancel 4 separate weeks of family vacations because of Wyndham closures, being forced to convert to CWA points in lieu of the 5 deeded weeks if we want to retain our VIP Platinum status and just a few days ago finding that Wyndham had the wrong email and has been sending our financial info to another person. What's next?
