Wyndham to RCI point transfer

Is it still necessary to manually move points from Wyndham for use into RCI? when I branch from RCI from myclubwyndham- there are many more points available than I expected. I'm curious if they are seeing my untransferred Wyndham points as available.

Yes, I believe that's the case. The "Wyndham RCI" site will show all of your potentially transferable points, not just the ones you've already transferred. Y

Yes, that's a confusing change they made a couple years ago. Doesn't make any sense. I have not done an RCI booking in a few years, but you used to have to transfer points to RCI in advance of making the booking unless you were VIP gold or higher. I'm not sure if this is still the case or not.
 
I made an RCI reservation / exchange (for November) one year expecting that my RCI balance would be used. I was (blissfully) unaware that the RCI balance (at that time) was set to expire in August (until Wyndham renewed my "RCI membership"). Later on, I noticed that my Club Wyndham points was dinged / debited with absolutely no explanation until I requested a 'transaction history' report and I was able to match up the dates and points to the RCI transaction.

So, it seems that they know to use Wyndham points for an RCI 'reservation' when there are 'no current year points available in RCI'.

Am I mistaken, but on March 1, aren't we supposed to be able to deposit 2027 points to RCI? It doesn't give me the option, except for 2026 points.

From the website:

"You can deposit your Club Wyndham points into RCI beginning 10 months prior to your Use Year start date, and up to the last day of your Use Year."

Yes, we are supposed to be able to. I just checked and it doesn't appear for me either.

Edit: I remembered this being an issue once before but I didn't realize it was 4 years ago! But it was broken and was later fixed, apparently. And so the cycle begins again. :p https://tugbbs.com/forums/threads/website-wont-allow-deposit-of-next-years-points-to-rci.335035/
