Wyndham Timeshare presentation

My post about Chairman's Club, Westin Kierland and Disney were just examples of the value of other timeshares compared to Wyndham. Wyndham has <$0 resale value. The transfer fee of $399 that Wyndham charges is money in the negative for a purchase. I realize most people do not have $100K sitting around. Imagine the interest on a loan that big, if you cannot pay it off immediately.

Wyndham for $100K? That's a scam performed by the sleaziest scum of the earth: timeshare salespeople. 200,000 points won't get you a 2 bedroom in Bonnet Creek during high season. (It's 224,000.)

Chairman's Club status of 15,000+ will get several weeks in high-quality accommodations with Marriott. Kierland Villas $100K purchase will get you sixweeks in great units on Maui, 2 bedrooms. $100K purchase with Disney during a sale (or through resale) will get you several weeks in a 1 bedroom at a Disney property.

Is anyone following the craziness of Wyndham with their subpar resorts? Sure, there are a few that are nice, but none are nicer than Marriott/ Westin/ Disney. I despise Wyndham.

I am aghast that anyone buys Wyndham developer.

Update…I completed a recession request on 10/15 (within the 7 day period. Took it into the sales center to the person that processed closing..note, they can do the recession there. End result, he was quite nasty. Took the form, copied it, dated it and initialed it and stated he would handle it. Told us we cost him and others money, and asked us to leave and never attend another sales presentation.

We left - but, at that point I did not trust him to do the recession. I completed another form and mailed it priority mail, certified, return receipt requested to the address in the contract on 10/15. I called the address and they stated they should have it the next day. I will call on Friday to confirm they got it.

Needless to say, I will NEVER attend another sales presentation. It’s just not worth it. Learned my lesson.

Thank you for your input

Good call! That sound you heard as you were leaving was your rescission letter running through the shredder.

My husband and I have a Wyndham timeshare with 840,000 access points with a monthly maintenance fee of $636 per month
I attended a presentation and they wanted me to convert these points to deeded property in Hawaii and add an additional 200,000 points.
They state maintenance fees in the state will not rise as fast as the rest of the country
They also state that property in Hawaii is easy to sell and rent
They claim I should be able to pay the loan off in 2 years by renting a portion of these points out - ??
Loan is $100,000.
My husband was insistent on doing this and does not want to rescind
we are currently within the 7 day recession window
Would appreciate some advice on this

Thank you

recind immediately. Use the form letter from this website and send it overnight and signature receipt requested upon received. Wyndham is closing several resorts. tug help us recind our purchase last year and thankfully we were successful.

Tell us more about what sucked you in, it can help others.
I can't speak for Goster but what usually "[sucks people] in" is the "free" gift that's offered to attend the presentation with the so-called assurance that it's only a no-obligation, "90-minute" presentation describing the benefits of vacation ownership.

Then, when they have lured you in there, we all know what happens.

Probably. Good thing they cannot ignore the USPS certified letter.

Technically, a recipient doesn't have to accept a certified letter. The recipient can simply refuse the delivery and not sign.

We got caught in something similar with Hilton Grand and it is costing us a small fortune to get out of it!
Please don't tell us you signed on with one of the timeshare exit scammers!

latest TUG short video was based on this thread =)
