If this is the resort you are talking about, in light of the problems relating to the contract pertaining to the power grid, flip a coin. I would go with yes but maybe not much to do in the way of attractions.
Representatives of
Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Puerto Rico Golf & Beach Resort report that the resort will remain closed through the end of the year after
Hurricane Maria devastated the island.
“Our hearts go out to all those who have felt Hurricane Maria’s devastating effects,” resort representatives said. “We are still in the process of assessing the storm’s impact.”
Hurricane Maria caused heavy damage to
Puerto Rico when it made landfall as a powerful storm, prompting
Gov. Ricardo Rosello to call it the “most devastating storm to hit the island this century, if not in modern history.” The storm knocked out the island’s entire power grid, and officials have estimated that it could take four to six months until it’s restored.
The
first commercial flights began to return to San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) late last week, although air service through the airport remains heavily disrupted. Additionally, the
Port of San Juan sustained heavy damage from the storm, with
Carnival Cruise Line reporting that repairs to its pier could take weeks. While the
Carnival Fascination was able to dock there over the weekend to allow passengers to disembark, the cruise line has canceled several of its upcoming sailings.
Royal Caribbean has also canceled
Adventure of the Seas’ September 23 sailing out of San Juan.
