I doubt sales even knew the partnership was ending. Chances are, even with this news, they still don't know and will be pushing the benefit for years to come.

Participating Vacasa home rentals require a redemption of either 15,000 or 30,000 Wyndham Rewards points per bedroom per night. Generally, the tier of points required for a property is determined based on the average cost per bedroom per night, inclusive of all taxes and fees (“Average Cost”). If the Average Cost is $250.00 or less, the redemption requires 15,000 points per bedroom per night; if the Average Cost is between $250.01 and $500.00, the redemption requires 30,000 points per bedroom per night. Rentals with an average cost of $500.01 or higher are not eligible for redemption.

If memory serves me correctly, they changed to 30,000 per night for 1BR and 60,000 per night for 2BR at some point in the last year.

I never used it, but to me, those seem cost prohibitive to me.

We leveraged the program for the past 3 years for excellent value. However, we have noticed significant inventory decreases over the past 12 months. Many of the nicest properties left the program.

I will probably burn our last 200k Wyndham rewards points trying an all inclusive in MX.

I figured this might be coming when Vacasa was acquired by Casago, which in turn informed Wyndham that it plans to wind down the partnership. This is a bit disappointing given the quality of most Wyndham hotels leaves a lot to be desired, and using points with Vacasa was a nice way to burn up a lot of points at 15k per bedroom per night. Hopefully Wyndham Rewards will announce another similar partnership in the relative near future to replace this type of feature/function/benefit.

As little as I spend nights in hotels, I can hold my nose for a night or 2 at one of the 7500/night Days Inn or Super 8's. I spent a week in a 7500/night Days Inn in Frederick, MD in September because I had to visit my wife's parents due to an emergency medical thing, and it was good enough. It was very last minute so it was either that or pay like $200/night for a Hampton Inn caliber hotel.

Also, didn't they DOUBLE the points requirements to 30,000/night last December? I don't think it's 15k per night / room.
