We're looking at visiting Edisto Beach/Wyndham Ocean Ridge next spring, more than likely in some sort of two bedroom unit. I would prefer to be close to a pool and in a recently renovated room. Has anyone recently stayed at Ocean Ridge and have possible suggestions on which section to stay in? I’ve looked through older threads but cannot find recent stays mentioning a renovated room. I see that Bay Point and Marsh Point I and II are receiving exterior renovations right now.

From prior posts, it appears the resort can assign you to any specific section that shares the same number of points on the points chart, even though the website acts like you can book in specific section.

The Village and Marsh Point look like good options close to the pools from what I can tell from the map. I’m going to reach out to the resort as well, but wanted to get feedback from those who’ve stayed if possible.

You are reading the map correctly. There is an outdoor pool at the Village and a combo pool at Marsh Point. The Village is newer than Marsh Point. The Village was nice. Never stayed at Marsh Point, but it's only a couple of blocks from the beach (Saint Helena Sound). The Village is closer to the river and the marina. (The island is small, so anything not in easy walking distance is just a short drive).

You might want to put a pin in these plans, Edisto was one of the resorts mentioned as possibly in the chopping block in this thread:

Thanks for sharing this. I saw the news about Fairfield Glade, but didn’t think Ocean Ridge would also be on the chopping block; however, I can understand why. I suppose I’ll be looking at other options just to be on the safe side.

I don't know how recently updated they are, but The Village has a pool right next to them and Marsh Point is a few minute walk away from the pool, think there is indoor and outdoor pools near Marsh Point.

Last time I stayed there was at Fairway Terrace in a 2BR, it seemed to be recently renovated, but that was 2021. There was no pool nearby, it was "inside the gate". The Village and Marsh Point are "outside the gate". When I was there in 2021, they were supposedly in the process of renovating Bay Point

Also rumor has it that some or all of Ocean Ridge may be closing, so who knows what will be left...

We like Marsh Pointe as the heated retractable covered pool is there. Also the buildings have elevators. They were renovated about three years ago. The village has lots of stairs leading to the units and the pool there is not heated. We drive from Marsh Pountebto the village to use the hot tub

Sea Oaks (golf course view), Sea Palms (lagoon view), and Fairway Terrace (golf course view) are all within an easy walking distance to the main pool, coffee/cream shop, and tiki bar. Unsure if tiki bar is open during the shoulder seasons, though. Have fun!

At Edisto now. The resort isn’t closing, they are selling off two of the older sections in order to open something in Charleston.

“In order to open something in Charleston” sounds like something a salesperson would say.

I would be skeptical of this claim. There's no space to build anything IN Charleston. Real estate, even the few abandoned buildings left, is very expensive and I don't see that happening.

Building a condo style resort in one of the surrounding suburbs, maybe. But again, I am skeptical. If something like this had any legs, we would have known about it. Plans for new resorts are not secrets.

That said, I think that would be a pretty decent spot for a resort.

Folks something is going on with in Wyndham.
IMHO..
