An acquaintance, who knows I own timeshares, needs to sell a timeshare from an estate. They are interested in just giving the timeshare back to the company and Wyndham Newport referred her to Regency Vacation Company.

Has anyone dealt with this company before? Reliability?

The company said, that since it was an off-week, she would need to pay them $2400 plus Wyndham's transfer fee which is $299.

I'm assuming (?) that the $2400 includes several years of maintenance fees.

Thoughts or comments?

Thanks.

Last summer, I walked by their storefront, which is right across from Wyndham Newport Onshore. Both Wyndham Long Wharf and Onshore included literature from Regency in the welcome packets that you get when staying at these resorts, so there is some sort of business relationship between regency and the POAs at these resorts.

That is all I know - they do have a website that you can find by googling them.

I have a Long Wharf converted blue week, that I asked them about after receiving the postcard at checkin. Was told they only accept Red weeks for resale.

That was about June 2010.

If then they had offered to take it for roughly 2 x MF plus a little, I would have done so.

Since you are enquiring about an estate sale, I'd tell the HOA that the estate needs to be settled, all assetts are distributed or will be and this is the only remaining item and what do they want to do.
