Wyndham inventory leftovers for resale

Went to a Wyndham presentation and was told if we were to buy resale that we would be going through RCI for leftover inventory....and that the only way to be eligible for all Wyndham properties would be to buy "some" developer points first. Was then told they (Wyndham ) "encourage" folks to buy resale afterwards and then roll all purchased resale points under the "developer" account so that all inventory is available. Fairly certain this is inaccurate information but wanted to see what the experts that have purchased resale with Wyndham have encountered regarding inventory. What properties are not available to rent with resale points through Wyndham?

Club Pass is the only real off limit via resale. Club Pass is access to the Worldmark branded inventory.

Other than that, it is lies to get you to buy.

First, for the most part resale works just like direct to book Club Wyndham stays. It does for us. I also understand that buying direct won’t help to “clean” what are “dirty” resale points.

All lies. Wyndham resale points can book properties just like direct points can. The only difference is that you wont have access to Worldmark properties and you won’t get the VIP last minute discounts (which are not worth the price).

And something about Margaritaville's? Maybe? I can't keep up what we can and can't book there, and the rules seem to change (what and when we can book and if it's only developer points versus owning at Margaritaville's). My solution - if I can see 'em on the website (or app) and can book 'em, great, if not, I don't know what I'm missing anyways. If Margaritaville is your thing, you'd want to delve into those details. For me, ignorance is bliss.

From what I hear is the only in Atlanta is Margaritaville points has a margarita machine and the the colors are different than CWA in Atlanta.

Access to WorldMark properties is very limited, even for those with highest status. I would never count on getting WorldMark West Yellowstone through Wyndham, for example. WorldMark owners book all of the most popular resorts.

Worldmark Booking Window opens are 13 months for 7 day or longer stays. 10 months for less than 7 days. Wyndham can not Book through Club Pass until 9 months.

Not sure what you mean, but I can book both MVC and CW rooms at Atlanta and I don’t own MVC points. As a VIPG owner I can book the MVC inventory up to eight months out. I don’t appear to be able to book MVC inventory using resale points however. I recall this has been the case since this resort opened, but is always subject to change based upon occupancy rates.

We've been to Margaritaville Nashville, Atlanta and Desert Blue. Margaritaville Nashville is a dedicated Margaritaville property. Atlanta and Desert Blue have both Club Wyndham and Margaritaville rooms. Certainly the interior design room design is different in the Margaritaville rooms than the Club Wyndham rooms. Different colors and different artwork. The same is true of the floors. Different design in the hallways and different on wall artwork between the floors that have Margaritaville rooms and those that have Club Wyndham rooms. Then there is the fact that the Margaritaville rooms have the Margaritaville Mixer machines in them. Something we’ve never used in the room but something we actually have at home, but rarely use there too.

At Desert Blue we stayed in a Margaritaville room and in Atlanta we had to book Club Wyndham. We could never see Atlanta Margaritaville availability but easily booked Margaritaville Nashville and a Margaritaville room at Desert Blue.

When the Atlanta location first opened, as a resale-only non-VIP I was prevented from booking the MVC inventory, but I could book the Club Wyndham inventory just fine. I’m not sure if anyone was ever able to confirm whether resale played a part or if it was the same for any non-VIP. Then at some point, MVC Atlanta became available to me. But then again more recently I’ve been given a message again that MVC Atlanta is not available for my ownership. Not a big deal since I can still access the Club Wyndham side (and at 10 months, not 5).

So you bring your own blender!

Maybe the hotel property, but what informed Club Wyndham TUG member wants to stay in a hotel when they can stay in a 1-4 bedroom timeshare in Nashville?:

What I was saying is that there aren't any regular Club Wyndham units in Nashville at the Margaritaville property. If you want to be able to walk to Lower Broadway or anywhere downtown, the Margaritaville location can't be beat. According to a recent review, Club Wyndham Atlanta isn't very good.

Did you read the post I quoted? I've edited my post for those that can't follow a conversation.

I'm not an expert on Atlanta but I stayed at the Margaritaville there (I don't know whether it was a Club Wyndham unit or not) and at least the football Stadium and the Arena are within easy walking distance which is pretty cool if that's why you're there. Which I was! Also Centennial Olympic Park is right there. I don't know where the exact downtown area is, but for games or concerts at the two big venues, its pretty great.

Yeah. It is also close to the CocaCola thing and Aquarium. We walked around Olympic Park. I know about the vicinity to the stadium and arena. We made the mistake of being there the night before the NCAA Elite Eight. Then one morning we woke up and the roads were packed. Apparently there was a huge volleyball tournament at the convention center. We should have researched these things before planning the trip. We ended up in Nashville during St Patrick's Day which was also right after the SEC Championship.
