Reading the forum is very informative, thanks to all Tuggers getting involved. Im thinking of buying Wyndham points, resale, im from NY.?. Is Wyndham Access points better than the regular Week/converted to points? Please enlighten.

Welcome to TUG. If you are looking at Wyndham, you should spend some time reading the information in the wyndham forum here on TUG. There are some permanaent stickies at the top of the forum that are helpful. Also, if you have Wyndham questions, the best place to post them here is in the Wyndham forum. Happy reading. I would read for awhile and then ask questions. Don't get in a hurry to buy something before you understand the system.

There are three kinds of Wyndham points...In their use there is no difference in the standard and express booking windows (10 months ahead of your check in date. The difference is in the advanced reservation priority window (13 months to 10 months ahead of your check in date)

There are 1)udi deeds and their points, 2)deeded fixed weeks converted to points and 3)Club wyndham access points (no deed)

If advanced reservation priorty for a particular week at a particular resort is your goal, than it will make a difference what you buy, if ARP is not an issue, then "points are points" It really dosent make a difference (except of course the cost to buy and the annual maintenance fees)

Please note that sometimes it is better to buy deeded weeks converted to points if that resort is the resort you like to visit much of the time. That is because you get to reserve your home resort before any generic Club Wyn point owner can reserve there.

Just be aware that you can only ARP your own unit/week or in the case of a float week, only weeks of the same type as the one you own. So if you own July 4th converted to points you cant ARP thanksgiving

And the ARP window is the same whether you own a udi deed or a fixed week converted to points. 13 months to 10 months is the ARP window in either case

The guy that has the advantage is the fixed week owner that never converted..he dosent have to arp at all..its his week
