How do you feel when you go to vacationclub.com and try to Navigate around? I find that the site is cluttered, and confusing.

Obviously with the Introduction of DC and points the emphasis is on the new program.

All of this makes for a really poor design of a landing page. Not too friendly to navigate and find what you need.

What is your take?

I agree. Even for the experieced user it can be a challenge clicking through the screens to find what you are looking for. The Homepage is way too busy.

It could be simplified if all the additional sales and marketing material was relocated to a different area or tab.

Wesites that make you constantly scroll down or across to view all the information are poorly designed in my opinion.

With the addition of the DC material you have to really work hard at learning the terminology used to even begin to understand the available options.

One way to easily declutter the this website is to introduce user preferences and login options. Right now every user sees just about the same information with no ability to customize the experience.

I do think the recent addition of the points reservation system online was a major upgrade to the site! It certainly is more useful now.

ITA. It is difficult and confusing with all these menus to try and figure out which of the drop down selections is going to provide you with the information you are looking for.

While I agree, they do put a lot of information onto their website.

The problem is simply that they are more interested in trying to sell the Destination Points program than in making the site easy to use. So they make their marketing stuff more prominent, consequently other things harder to find.

Bad website design.

I have no idea if it is "good" marketing. Hard to imagine it is ----

No doubt, the entire family of Marriott websites are extremely content rich. Marriott goes out of their way to serve up content from all angles.

This is probably the cause of some of the navigational dysfunction on vacationclub.com

Is this post related to the bashing of Marriott.com going on over at Flyer Talk?

Man, those guys are giving it to Marriott... brutal. :crash:

No Not at all. Now you got me curious, so I will go have a look.

I just can't imagine why anyone would badmouth Marriott. I just love my Marriott's.

I have to agree with those bashes on the Marriott.com site. It used to be one of the best hotel websites out there. Now, not so much.

Guys, what is "Flyer Talk"?

flyertalk.com, it's the best website for everything to do with airline and hotel programs. This link should take you to the Marriott Rewards board over there.

I agree. The recent changes made the site less useful and less user friendly, at least for me.
