I went to Wallgreens to pick up a prescription I usually pay about $14.00(no ins.). Wallgreens wanted $62.45. I refused and went on the web and found a website www. goodrx.com. I entered the prescription on their search box. I was presented with a batch of coupons including one from Wallgreens for $12.00. I went back to Wallgreens, presented the coupon and walked out with the prescription for $12.00. UNBELIEVABLE.!
Same prescription, same Wallgreens, $50.00 savings.

I always check GoodRx before filling a prescription. With some of my prescriptions using their coupon costs me less than my Insurance co-pay.

Wow. I wish I knew about this a few weeks ago. Last year, my daughter's epipen had a $30. co-pay at Walgreens. This year, it was a $220. co-pay. It is life saving medication and we were completely out, so I just paid it. I'll write this info down.

EDIT: Or, not. Just looked it up and it is $400 - $500 according to that site.
There was a $100. coupon on the site, but Walgreens had already applied a $100. discount before my $220 copay.

Did it actually work when you went to Walgreens? I have tried them at my local Walmart and CVS and both said they did not accept those coupons or other discount codes.

GoodRX's website said it was good at my CVS, but when i got there, CVS said "No, we don't take it anymore." I guess it is a store by store thing. Or not.

I've also tried to use the card, and the Walgreens I use would not take it. They said the the rebate company never reimburses Walgreen. So it seems it is region by region...go figure. Luckily a few days later my Plan D kicked in so I didn't have to pay for my medications.

Could be a store by store thing. I don't know. What I do know is (1) my local CVS put the coupon code in their computer and I don't even have to show it anymore; and (2) when my Doctor inadvertently wrote my new prescription for a 90 day supply CVS charged me about 25% less than the 30 day supply coupon rate x 3. Go figure.

Definitely worth having them check. They have an iPhone app as well, which makes it very easy to look up discounted prices. I like to use it at the doctor's office if he's wanting to prescribe something I'm not familiar with, just to make sure it's not outrageously expensive. If it is, I'll ask if there are alternative drugs that might be cheaper. (Once they tried to prescribe a $200 antibiotic.)
