Hi, my name is Michael Tabb and I’m a senior video journalist at The Wall Street Journal. I’m interested in speaking with millennials and Gen Zers who’ve bought timeshares for a video about how the industry is evolving. I’m hoping to get a range of perspectives from people who’ve bought directly or via resale.

If you could email me at michael.tabb@wsj.com with your name, age, contact info., where you live, what timeshare(s) you own, and a brief description of your experience, I’d really appreciate it. I’ll try to follow up with everyone I can to set up video calls. Thanks!

I don't think he will find many Gen Z timeshare owners
The oldest Gen Z'ers are 28 now, starting families -- the perfect time to start owning a timeshare, IMO. But yes, I'm sure there are not many out there yet.

Thanks for the excellent content you and your colleagues produce. I just bought in but I'm 55.

Yea, I'm really getting tired of various media acting like the "average Millennial" is 30. No, the last / youngest are around 30! I don't have kids, but I really kind of wish I'd gotten a timeshare (resale) when I first started looking into it in 2008 or so, instead of forgetting and then waiting till 2022.

EDIT: I'm not really sure if I want to be in a "news story video", but I also think a lot of us would not be representative of how the systems are changing or an average timeshare purchaser. For what it's worth anyway.

Fyi I spoke with Michael earlier and gave him permission to post his request looking for someone to interview for his story!

I'm an elder millennial. I'm not certain I'm his target group, but I reached out to him.

There should be lots of them. According to ARDA 57% of timeshare owners are either Gen Z or Millennials.
And they likely paid full price.

I am not sure I believe 57% of owners are Gen Z / Millennials, but I would not be too surprised if 57% of recent developer purchases are from that age group. That sounds the same but is different...

My GenZ and Millennial adult children enjoy using our Timeshares and we have had many family reunions because of the larger units in Hawaii and Cabo. This would be unaffordable if we needed to rent.

We can rent at favorables rates for their vacations using guest certificates on our family account so there is no need to purchase.

They will eventually inherit our timeshares from us and can decide whether to keep or refuse at that time.
