Trying to find good airfare to STT for next year. If we arrive STT at 11 pm, are we pretty much stuck there until the next morning or is there ANY WAY we can get to the WSJ that evening? If we have to spend the night on STT, how bad is that hotel next to the airport? Thanks.

The hotel next to STT isn't supposed to be so bad according to what I have read. There is also a hotel in CA across from the CA-CB ferry that is also supposed to be a good place to stay. You cannot get to STJ that late at night unless you charter a private taxi boat.

Consider asking this question on the VINOW.com BBS.

If you are flying thru MIA or ATL - consider staying there overnight.

Why so late? Are you flying direct or connecting flight in Florida?

Have you looked into connecting flights out of Newark NJ, using Continental?

Right now the 11 pm flight into STT is the cheapest so we would fly in on Friday night and check in for our timeshare week at WSJ on Sat...maybe. Still looking at other alternatives.

Does that factor in the cost of an extra Hotel stay, meals and extra transportation to stay over night a day early?

We stayed at the Best Western next to the STT airport in August. It was for the same reason - our flight got in too late to catch the ferry, and we were not checking in the the WSJ until the next day anyway. The hotel is not a 4- or 5-star hotel, but was clean and not bad for spending a night. They have a nice restaurant right on the water with a good view of the ocean and the island. If a recall correctly, the room cost about $160.

Besides significant savings on airfare, it allowed us to be able to leave for St. John early in the day on the Saturday we were checking in.

It looks like you are stuck. Even the local ferries don't run that late.
