I am offered a two bedroom two bath very near Disney World for week 52 every year. Would this be a good purchase?

It seems to me that it would also be a good trader but I'm not sure. This is a very inexpensive resale.

What resort, what maint fee, what price? Some resorts are in financial peril, some have large transfer fees, some are lockoffs and some are not, some have huge special assessments, etc. More info needed...

Parkway International, near Kissimmee, not a lock off. Low closing costs and maintenance fee below $600 for now.

Tuggers rate this resort 8.06, but the most current review is negative - here is a link to the reviews - http://tug2.com/RnR/TabResortDescription.aspx?ResortGUID=4d6950b4-5910-4c70-af4e-0f1f512aea00

In general, Florida timeshares are poor traders, since supply exceeds demand in Florida. Week 52 is a plus.

I wouldn't buy this week unless I wanted to use it at least every other year and the price was very, very low. It's a buyers market right now.

Thank you Denise!! That helped alot. Can I ask where you are staying when you go to Disneyland?

We are stying at Dolphin's Cove - glad I could help!

Not exactly...

In general, Florida timeshares are poor traders, since supply exceeds demand in Florida.

More accurately stated, supply exceeds demand in certain parts of Florida --- the entire Orlando / Kissimmee area being foremost among them.

In other parts of Florida (more specifically, coastal SW FL and the Keys), the exact opposite is true. There, demand consistently exceeds supply --- even in the current economy.

P.S. Florida Keys weeks (except in hurricane season) trade as well as anything, anywhere --- and much better than most...

Good points. I would love a timeshare in the Keys but can't seem to find one!!
