Would I have gotten this exchange with a 'Request'?

Just curious---which site sold it?

And, I'm not well versed to create a 'well-written Ad'---especially if ANY graphics/pictures etc.

Pat

I finally gave it away on Craigslist, but Craigslist is the most difficult of the websites to deal with, so I wouldn't JUST post it there.

On the Bargain Deals Forum you can see examples of how to write an Ad.

Posting pictures is really not difficult - but most people don't add pictures to their TUG Ads, because they don't know how:

Use google and search for your resort by name.

Then click images - pictures of your resort will come up.

Pick some you like (no wider than 800 pixels) and click on the picture.

Then click on the link in your browser bar, and copy the url for the picture.

Paste it into you TUG Ad and put the following "code" before and after (with no spaces) to post the picture.

EXAMPLE:
url] [COLOR="red"]

(But don't leave spaces like the ones in the example - I just left spaces so you can see the code.)

When you close up the spaces you get a picture:

With RCI an OGS is just a place in line. If you are using points through II, be it Interval points, Worldmark points, DRI points, etc, your priority is based on when you set up the ongoing search. For week deposits it is based on how strong your deposit is.

With II, what happen if the order of OGS (based on setup time of OGS) is like this:
1- Week medium trader
2- Point owner
3- Week strong trader

From what I understand, a point owner can't past over anybody and no body can pass over a point owner.

So, if a week is deposited and the week medium trader has the trading power, he will get it because the point owner can't pass in front of him and the week strong trader is blocked because it can't pass in front of the point owner. So, the point owner is a kind of blocker in the chain.

Am I correct ?
Thanks

In your example, assuming that owner #1 has enough trading power, and there is only one exchange available, he will get the exchange, because he put in his request first.

Higher trading power doesn't trump an earlier request.

People said the inverse normally with II: Higher trading power trumps an earlier request.

So, II will not invert 1 and 3. For the #2 point owner, it has somebody in line before him. The only difference is if the #1 doesn't have the trading power and the #3 has it. If II invert #1 and #3 then #3 get the trade otherwise is #2 due to #1 trading power is too low.

With ongoing searches, if all 3 have the necessary trading power, then the owner who puts in their request first will get the exchange.

Trading power does not trump OGS date.

I have zero idea about II points.

I have a 1BR non Marriott unit that use to be a great trader in II five years ago. This same unit is now a mediocre trader with them. What I have found with this unit for Orlando Marriotts, just looking at online inventory.

* This 1BR unit will pull just about any Marriott studio available in Orlando.
* It will pull 1BR units for any week that is not a prime week
* It will pull 2BR for low demand weeks (Sept) or places like Cypress that only have 2BR units.
* It will never pull high demand weeks above a studio, even a week out.

I do think there may be something to the theory of higher power with an OGS. (or maybe just an II glitch)

Example: I put in an OGS for a high demand, school vacation ski week in New Hampshire with this mediocre trader. I was amazed, it matched!!! Never, ever did I think it would.

Long story short an II rep cancelled this exchange by mistake (they were suppose to cancel something else). I noticed it a week after the error. I called to see if they could fix, rep told me my week wasn't strong enough to pull and I couldn't have it. After some back and forth and them seeing my OGS pulled it, they gave me back the trade. In this case....the OGS pulled it...but when trying to get it as just available inventory it would not.

There are definitely times when an ongoing search will match resorts that wont be available for instant confirmation. This has happened to me several times over the years, usually when high end resorts are available for instant exchange but mediocre trading resorts wont pull them. I've then entered an ongoing search which resulted in an almost instant confirmation.

Using Interval, the only time the date of an OGS comes into play is if trading power is equal. Then its used in effect as a tie breaker. For example, if an owner of a very high demand week puts in a request, they immediately go ahead of other requests with lower trading power even though the other requests were entered first.

I called II twice to try to pull the week I wanted with one of my weaker traders.

I ended (online) having to use my stronger week---I thought if I waited several days---it would be gone.

Ooops----I forgot to remove my request with my weak week.

It ended up matching----I had to frantically call II to cancel it. I was actually a day late in calling, but she did it---thank you.

And, so now I see that to deposit your week DOES help-----because the week I 'gave back' still is not viewable if I look to exchange for it----even though I know it's still there.
