Worst timeshare resort you've stayed in?

We had an awful unit at Timbers. The bathtub was so gross from old decals that it was almost unusable. If I had had a child with me, there is zero chance that I would have bathed them in that tub. The stairwell was filthy. This was an II exchange. We won't be back.

Timbers at Island Park Village Resort is one of the worst timeshare resorts we've stayed in

1. The mattresses have permanent impressions no matter whether you flip it or not. The impressions are severe enough to cause significant back pain.
2. Some units still have not been remodeled. The kitchen cabinets and cabinet lining look old and dirty.
3. The wood in the deck and balconies are rotting. Some entry stairs the wood is so rotten they look unsafe.
4. The resort staff never clean the barbeque grills. Most resorts we stay at clean their grills at least weekly and some daily.
If you go to this resort after its annual maintenance week in May, you have to spend time to deep clean the grills from the leftover mess from the homeowner's picnic party.
5. The resort caters to off-road vehicle owners, so you frequently have to listen to off road vehicles operating on trails adjacent to the resort.
6. The carpet on the interior stairs is always covered with stains.
7. There is little-to-no insulation in the downstairs ceilings, so if you stay downstairs expect to hear a lot of noise from the unit upstairs.
8. There is little insulation in the walls, so when you are in the bedroom expect to hear a lot of noise from the bedroom in the adjacent unit.

Worldmark Oceanside. The pool was cold , felt like a bad hotel conversion and we couldn’t walk nor shop anywhere cause it’s a Homeless Paradise.

The Links in Myrtle Beach. It was one of my first exchanges. The resort wasn't bad. The others (mostly Marriots) were just much better. I know the qualtiy of resorts much better now (thanks to TUG!) and would no longer accept The Links (we exchanged into the new Marriottt this trip). When RCI told me that they did me a favor by giving me The Links for the last week in August in exchagne for my Fourth of July / Race week in Daytona, I knew it was time to sell the Daytona week.

Washer and dryer being used by a cleaning service (not someone staying at the resort) so we had a hard time getting our laundry done. We stayed here in August. Definitely not a Marriott. The pull out sofa had a HORRIBLE mattress but the unit was clean. Washer and dryer being used by a cleaning service (not someone staying at the resort) so we had a hard time getting our laundry done. (Reported this to the front desk)The location was the reason we exchanged there.

Why does this resort allow a commercial cleaning service company to used a timeshare unit for commercial usage????
This needs to be reported to someone in corporate.

Probably the company that is hired to clean the sheets and towels for the units.

My husband actually questioned the lady because he was so irritated. It was a lady cleaning houses down the road. Their dryer had quit so they were using the resorts machines. The resort apparently had no idea. Guess there is no lock on the door and the nearest laundry facility is about 20 something miles away.

Wow, This really surprises me. We owned multiple units there for over 20 years. I gave my last one away last year. I guess we were lucky that our unit was newly remodeled and while we never found the mattresses too comfortable we never experienced the conditions being described here and we went almost every year for the last 20. The funny thing is, what made me finally give up my last unit is that they remodeled the bathrooms took out both bathtubs, and put in walk-in showers. I am a bath person and mentioned to the manager I wasn't happy with the change and asked what people with small children would do, her response was to bathe them in the kitchen sink. Maybe being an owner we got the better units.

We were definitely not in a remodeled unit. It had red carpet …LOL! Old furnishings. I can’t remember what number it was but it was a one bedroom that was not too far from the office and faced the pavilion where there were some picnic tables. It was fine for our purposes- to be close to Yellowstone. I made my husband sleep on the pullout while my 11 year old daughter and I slept in the bed…HA HA!

Maui Marriott Ocean Club, Maui Wing Island View, 1 bedroom with LK. Not even a full size fridge. Resort itself was great, but unit was looking out mauka right above all the infrastructure that kept the resort running. So much crap flying in the air the lanai was enclosed, and you could see the junk on the enclosure windows. And hear all the noise so had to keep lanai door closed. Never again. Never.
