Anyone been recently? Has Cabo recovered from the devastating hurricane? My sister & her boyfriend were supposed to go last year but couldn't because of damage. They kept pushing back the reopening date so they finally booked for the week after Thanksgiving. Unfortunatley sis & BF broke up last month and she is heartbroken. She doesn't want to lose the points and airfare that's all paid for and she asked me to go. Reviews are old so I'm looking for something more recent.

Are you referring only to the physical location of Bldg 2 (set back from the ocean)? Or are you aware of additional/delayed repairs being conducted for that building?

If I recall correctly (it has been several years since we visited), to compensate for their limited views, units in building 2 have private jetted tubs on their balconies.

Verified from the Resort Info Page unit descriptions:
  • Two Bedroom Back Building Hot Tub: King in master, twins in second bedroom, queen murphy bed in living area. 3/4 bathrooms only. Unit is located in Phase 2 in the back building. No ocean views. Unit has a hot tub on the deck. May have road noise. Maximum occupancy 6.
  • Two Bedroom - Special Needs Back Building: King in master, twins in second bedroom, queen murphy bed in living area. Grab bars, roll-under sink, roll-in shower. Unit is located in Phase 2 in the back building. Unit has a hot tub on the porch. Ground floor. Maximum occupancy 6.

Yes, units have hot tub but Building 2 is like staying in a motel on the road side. I exchanged 1 time to this resort through RCI and they put us in this building close to the highway and far from the beach. With kids under 5, it was unacceptable to stay in this building with road noise and cross the parking to go to the pool or the beach. They refused to move us in the others buildings. They said that building 2 is where they park RCI exchanger. I stayed there 1 hour. I called RCI and they moved us to Hacienda Del Mar for free. We were not the first who complained to RCI about this building.

That stinks!

It sounds as if Pats sister is a Worldmark owner? Re: "losing points"

Not an owner but she bought an "exit" package during a timeshare spiel. Not the first time she has done something like that despite my warnings (insert biting tongue).

Oh, ah! Maybe she'll be assigned the 'best available' location and view ... as Wyndham hopes to convert her exit package to a full membership! ;-) Wishing you both a very pleasant visit.
