From WLR's Facebook Page (which, if you own WLR and are on Facebook, you should Like. They actually read and respond to posts):

Fans! You’re the first to know…It’s our pleasure to announce the opening of Phase 4 at The Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort Villas Cancun. Years in planning and construction, this opening completes what is considered to be the most beautiful resort in Cancun. With a brilliant blue Caribbean Sea shimmering in the background, we look forward to welcoming you with new amenities such as a beautiful swim-up bar which will be joined by a sports bar and Heavenly Spa later this year.

Are these the famous ocean front units?

Not exactly. Buildings 10-14 have just opened. Building 14 (as well as Buildings 1 and 9) has a tier of units (01-02) known as Ocean Side (OS) units? All units in buildings 1, 9 and 14 face the beach. ... eom

As Jarta said these are the 2nd half of the "W" shape of the resort. I posted pics of them under construction last year when we went. Sales seem to be slow because construction has taken a very long time.

Has anyone obtained a deeded week in the new buildings?

We're here now and it looks like they have opened some of the units in the new phase.... walked thru the pool area yesterday and it was pretty quiet. The pool bar is open but that's about it from what I could see. The front entry into this phase off of their driveway is still under conctruction.

When I was at Lagunamar last month the weekly activities sheet for the resort advertised some sort of golf tournament. I hadn't brought my clubs. One of the reasons is that there are only a few courses near the Zona Hotelera (Hotel Zone) and they seemed too expensive for me - well above $100 US - and would require transportation back and forth. The "tournament" was advertising a fee of $100 US per person. ... eom
