If you are on the first floor, in an ocean view unit, can you walk off the lanai onto the resort grounds, or is there a wall around the first floor lanais?

If you can, are you able to lock the patio door from the lanai?

Some can walk off, some can't IIRC. For instance, I believe building 3 pool side (or perhaps both) cannot. I don't think any offer the ability to lock from the outside, but I'm not certain.

OK - so you can't really leave the unit from that door.

I don't remember of any first floor lanais where you can walk directly onto the resort grounds. IIRC there is shrubbery between the lanai and the walkway/path.

Looking at some photos we took last year -- for Building 2, pool side, the lanais of the ground floor units appear to have the same metal railing as the lanais for the higher floor units. So, at least for Building 2, it does not appear that one can walk off the lanai onto the resort grounds.

I don't think the South property has any lanais that you can walk out to the resort grounds. All lanais are the same, with a railing, regardless of the floor they are on. If there is one without a railing, it would be an exception. I don't recall ever seeing one. The lanais are a bit off the ground that surrounds them, so it would take a jump to get on the ground.

At WOKORV-N the story is different. I think most, or even perhaps all first floor units have lanais that you can walk out onto grass. They don't have a railing.

we stayed building 3 first floor and you cannot. I know the same is true for building 4, and 99.9% certain it is true for all buildings.

That is one reason we prefer WKORN -- we like first floor walk out

This is correct - only WKORVN has 1st floor villas that can access resort grounds from lanai door. WKORV has to go thru hallway (unless one want to climb over railing and jump...)
