I love bougainvillea! The pool looks fabulous.

I call for the first annual Tuggers convention to be held in SDKath's pool.

PS - Is the blonde in the picture your daughter? She looks a lot like mine.

I hope so. Inspection today. Concrete Monday!

The pool looks like its going to be very nice. What system are you going with salt or bromide/chlorine? The patio, plantings and fireplace all tie-in well. I'll second the call for meeting at SDKath's.

Since JerseyGirl and I already had the December Cleveland area meeting at our local great beer place (http://www.winkinglizard.com), and it's 25 with snow here now, I'm certainly up for a party in an outdoor pool!

Does it have a swim up bar? Or do we have to wait until Cancun in April?

We are doing a saltwater pool because my DD has eczema so the less chlorine, the better for her. No swim up bar (sorry Westin5*). But we are going to Lagunamar for Spring Break so I will get over it there. :)

Check out this thread if you want to see the plans for the pool and the preliminary pictures:

I am posting some new pix on the thread tonight because my family wants to see the progress too. They have all the plumbing done as of tonight. Concrete next and then lots of little things like electrical coming up.

You will love having the salt water pool. It doesn't dry out your skin and hair, its actually beneficial. The maintenance with a salt water pool is so much easier. We love ours salt water system. The Sams lighting is great too, looks like you are doing it right!

Why not go with a heat pump instead of a gas heater? Isn't San Diego sunny and warm?

We have have a salt water pool for the past 7 years. If you need any advice help, just ask. When the pool is first finished, you will need to brush it down daily, at least twice a day. It will take work to get it balance at first, but after the first year it gets so easy.

Would you mind sharing where you saw the recent OF at WKOVR for sale. We own three units SVV,SV and WKOVR (all developer bought) and I am on a quest to get to five star status which is now 659,000 staroptions. Any other advice to help us get there would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Pat

A resale purchase does not count towards 5* status unless you requalify it with a subsequent developer purchase. See seenett's article (link below) and the various threads about requalification on this board. It is certainly do-able, but you must carefully sequence your purchases to make it work.

Hi Pat,

Read my thread in the owner's stickies on the top of this board that says SDKath's guide to 5*. It details everything step by step. You do need a firm plan before you buy too much because there are many rules and regulations (that change often). Buying resale weeks do not count toward the StarOption requirement UNLESS you requalify them with a new purchase from Starwood direct. Also, a Hawaii unit can only be requalified with a $40,000 purchase. This is why we never did buy a resale HI unit even though I want one badly.

Hope that helps. Once you read my little guide, post a new question on the general board so that others can jump in. This thread has derailed big time! :)

Thanks, I will read tha article again and post any new questions on the general forum. It is all a bit confusing but I am sure with some diligence and help I will be able to work out a plan.

Feel free to use Private Messaging too for little questions. Most of us are happy to answer at any time. I think you need 5 posts to be able to send a PM (upper right). :) It IS confusing. K

For those of you with my pool interest in mind, I posted more pix tonight, this time of the stone we picked out. :)
