I would like to have the same 2 bedroom unit for the 2 weeks.

Each week has it's own reservation number
I own at SDO so I know to mention that
We arrive on a Saturday 6 PM or so

any suggestions on

who to call?
when to call?
how to ask for this to be done?

I"ve read many posts on the room requests at WKORV but couldn't find anything on consecutive weeks.

Just call WKORV directly and ask them to link the reservations together. Since you have the same unit size for both weeks at the same resort (not one at WKORV and the other at WKORV-N) they will accommodate you without difficulty.

If thi is Hawaii and this is an II trade,

you will have to see if each confirmation has the same view code.

I know how to tell this with a Marriott exchange but do not know how to do it with Starwood.
Many of the Hawaii resorts have oceanfront, ocean view and island view and the views have to match in order to stay in the same unit for two weeks.

Worked out in January for us

We stayed in the same 2BR for two weeks in January. We called in our request right after our weeks were confirmed, and then called again a couple of weeks before arrival. It was wonderful not to have to move!

Just so you know, if your flight lands at 6:00, you won't be at the resort until around 8:00 - assuming you are flying in to OGG.

If you are a Starwood owners doing a II exchange, be sure you specify that when you call/Fax - it will put you up a bit higher in the pecking order!

I would send a Fax ASAP, and follow up with a call about 2 weeks before check-in.

So with Starwood, it does not matter what the view of the confirmed exchange is?
Oh, that's right - owners don't get to deposit their actual ownership/unit....
So u get what u get and u don't get upset (my DD is a pre-school teacher, couldn't resist the comparison)

With Marriott, owners deposit their actual ownership/reservation they make so if an oceanfront owner deposits, that is what the exchanger gets.

Hi Pat :hi: - nope, no view designation with exchanges - it's all determined by the resort, based on your place in the food chain.

KORV same unit

We are trying that this year, we exchanged our KORV South Bi annual at the 8 month date through SVN:whoopie: ...we used points for the 2 bedroom to get a studio for 19 nights at the North property. They assured us we would have an OV Studio and not have to move.....keeping my fingers crossed, we check in on the 27th...it should not be too full, school vacation is over and the spring break hasn't started yet so we are hoping for a good unit.....

Wow -- 19 days -- sounds wonderful!!!

I have a friend who has been bragging about taking a whole week off this year for his extended family's(100+ people) annual two-week vacation to a popular local-ish resort. (He usually just goes for weekends and works in-between). I told him he might want to consider taking a whole year off ... it's even better! :)

It's a bit longer

We actually will be in Hawaii from Feb. 23 - March 17, 4 days in Waikiki at the Wyndham Beach Walk.....we got better flights into Honolulu. First Class using AAdvantage Miles combined with Starwood Points bonus, 2 tickets.

If I can rent my last week still available we will be traveling with our MFs paid and frequent flyer miles.......(We are both semi retired as of 12/31/09)

Wow -- even better!

We're headed to Hawaii in late May ... for two weeks .... wish it was longer. Also took full advantage of racked up Cont'l miles (couldn't get first class on weekends, so have to travel mid-week and used RCI and hotel points to fill in the partial weeks). Shortly thereafter I have to end my year of semi-retirement and go back to the salt mines ... for fifteen more years or so. :bawl:

Have a wonderful trip!

That's what we're doing this summer, 3 nts at Wyndham Beach Walk, to take advantage of the Delta direct flight from Detroit(seems like it leaves on Wed, Thursday). Used my DL/NWA miles to upgrade 4 tickets.
