We are arriving at WKORV on Friday and was wondering if we should take our Costco softbag cooler with wheels. This will be our first time at this resort so i wasn't sure if they allowed it around the pools. Since the beach is public i figured they can't stop it there. We have been to some resorts and they don't allow the cooler on premisis (they wan't you to spend money on their expensive drinks and food instead) other resorts do allow it. We typically pack our drinks, lunch, snacks and head out for the day. We don't usually go back to the room to eat.

I've seen people with bags and coolers around the pools at this resort. I doubt you'll have a problem.

Coolers

Two weeks ago when we were there I saw a security guard that approached a woman at the pool about her cooler. She showed him that it contained an ice pack for her knee injury. The security guard said OK and left.

Just note that you can't bring your own alcohol at the pools. I've heard it's some sort of law

Same for the BBQ grills, but a lot of people bring alcohol anyways.

Westin is famous for having rules they don't enforce. By the way, the guys at the front (bell hops / car valets) usually have a stash of things like coolers, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc, that they get from people checking out. Just ask them what they have, turn it back in when you leave.

Great idea...

LR is correct - use discretion - plus it is more about having glass around the pool as a safety hazard

We bring a soft-side cooler to all of our tropical locations - long with these foam 'coozies' that goes around the bottles.
