Are there any penalties if I withdraw a request with II? What about the exchange fee that I already paid?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with cancelling a request. People are entitled to change their travel plans or to grab something else if it becomes available. The only problem is that your new exchange request will go again to the bottom of the new waiting list.

I didnt mean there is anything wrong with cancelling a request. I was just joking that the OP should have checked the policies regarding cancelling before actually making the request.
