With Hilton buying Bluegreen what will happen to Choice relationship.
Bluegreen points can be converted to choice points and Bluegreen resorts are listed on Choice hotel website.
I am pretty sure this will end.

Any thoughts
Daniel

This actually solves a problem with the attempted Choice Hotels takeover of Wyndham Hotels. With Bluegreen becoming affiliated with Hilton, that leaves the Club Wyndham/Margaritaville timeshares to be with Choice hotels after the merger.

How long is Bluegreen on the hook with Choice in their agreement? Might it cost HGV something to buy it out?

It should also be noted that Marriott Vacations Worldwide who owns Marriott, Westin and Sheraton Vacation Clubs, which are part of the overall Marriott brand, also owns Hyatt Vacation Club and has a separate agreement with World of Hyatt. So a lot will depend on how HGV decides to rebrand Bluegreen. If they slap a Hilton name on the resorts, then they will probably have to drop Choice Hotels. This would also mean they can't drop the Bluegreen resorts into HGV Max, something I don't see happening.

They will be rebranded similar to DRI being rebranded to HVC. This is from the FAQ HGV press release.

As Bluegreen Vacations resorts are rebranded under the HGV umbrella, they will be available for rental on Hilton.com.
Over time, the vast majority of Bluegreen Vacations resorts will be rebranded into the HGV family of brands. The rebranding of Bluegreen Vacations resorts will take place over a phased, multi-year period. We will communicate details about any rebranding efforts as they are finalized.

Not sure what you mean by this. If the rebrand into Hilton and drop Choice Rewards, why couldn't they drop Bluegreen into Max?

Sorry, I think i left out some context there in my last sentence. What I think I was trying to say was, if they somehow kept an association with Choice Hotels, then they couldn't drop Bluegreen into Max. Marriott has not, to this day, added Hyatt Vacation Club resorts to their combined program with Marriott, Westin & Sheraton.

I just read the HGV investor call transcript which took place yesterday. It was stated that HGV is in discussion with Choice Hotels concerning moving forward. That certainly is vague for the time being.

Can you provide a link to the document in which you found this phrase? Thanks....

Here's a link to the official HGV-Bluegreen acquisition press release that I found...

Got it; thank you. Since it's the acquiring company, I'll take it as more authoratative than the BG pronouncements.
First reaction after a brief reading: the increased competition for desireable BG properties from HVCMax customers will make stay-in-place BG owners unhappy, which is expected to encourage them to "upgrade" to HVCMax with a new VOI purchase.

I don't see it that way. We are actually trying to figure HGVMax out, but IMO it appears to be an exchange program only (maybe similar to however RCI works). You can watch this thread

HGV has resorts that aren’t available to book through Hilton Hotels. Bay Club and HGVC at Trump International Vegas Are two that come to mind.
