Windows 10 Print Issues

Installed Windows 10 and am having difficulty getting to printer via Internet pop up windows.

Variation 1: When I go to print something found in my Yahoo Mail, I click to print email. I then get a pop up menu which shows all the choices for settings for my printer, but no where is there anything (or anything that I can find) that says print.

Variation 2: In one program, I want to print a puzzle. I choose print puzzle and get a pop up menu for printers, but it claims that it cannot find and connect to my printer. I have found a work around for this, but annoying. I choose an alternative printer choice (Quicken .pdf document) and then choose my real printer and now it recognizes it.

Variation 3: In another case, I ask to see a .pdf copy of a puzzle and it does so, but there is nothing that allows me to say print this .pdf document. (No pop up print menu, no nothing.)

What am I missing?

In 'settings', the gear-looking thing in the start menu, when you press the Windows key, do you see your printer? If so, consider uninstalling it and forcing Windows to install a new driver.

Another work around when you don't see a 'print' button is simply to press the ctrl key simultaneously with the 'p' key. That's the universal print command in Windows. I find that easier than searching for a print button. You may still need a new driver.

Thanks for the suggestions, Jim. They seemed good, but in the end it did not work out.

Once I uninstalled the printer, I had a hard time getting Windows 10 to recognize that I had a printer attached. Finally (with help from the Internet), I found a route to get it to recognize the printer and use the existing drivers. (This was Microsoft's on screen recommended option. I tried having it search for new drivers, but it came up empty.) At that point, it recognized the printer, but when I tried printing the test page (or anything else), my printer was listed in the "error mode." (Put differently, I was dead in the water.)

Searching the net some more (Microsoft communities), I did find some others with similar problems, but no one with a solution. Actually, there was one solution - you have 30 days to reinstall your old operating system. I am back to Windows 7.
