My 2012 week was deposited with II and will be used in January 2013. If I now sell this TS, will the sale interfere with my booking? My II account expires in March 2013.

II will not know if you sell the timeshare - but the resort will. So be sure your contract stipulates that usage begins in 201[3] and that you advertise it that way.

That makes sense, thanks. When we purchased the TS (resale), we used the resort's lawyer and probably paid too much for closing costs. I've been reading good things about Legal Timeshare Transfers... would they supply the contract wherein we would specify that usage begins in 2013?
As soon as the week is deposited into II, the resorts considers the usage for that year used. When you sell it, there is no way for a new buyer to retrieve that week from your II account. As long as you have it in your agreement that usage starts next year 2013, everything is on the table and less chance of a mix up with your buyer.
Your usage would not be affected as it was already accepted by II and you have it booked.
Has anyone heard of a company called m and m management group? They have been contacting us to rent our timeshare. We wonder if they are a legitimate business.
I sold a week many years ago where I had the previous year banked with RCI (before RCI had been bought out and was friendlier) and to sweeten the pot for the sale I included the banked week with the sale. When I sold the week I had RCI transfer the week to the buyers RCI account. I don’t know what II’s policies are but I would think any banked week belongs to you to do what you want.
