I was getting ready to book Wild Oak on Interval as an exchange when I saw this exact message:
REQUIRED RESORT CHARGES
REQUIRED SURCHARGES (energy, accommodations/occupancy tax, bed tax, fees or other miscellaneous) ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OCCUPANT AND ARE PAYABLE DIRECTLY TO THE RESORT. Surcharges are subject to change without notice. Excise tax of 16.75% Getaway confirmations is not included in the initial charge by Interval International, but will be collected by the resort at the time of occupancy, and an additional nightly, resort fee will apply. Nightly resort fee: USD 22.
I’m a bit confused by this fine print. Does it mean that there’s an extra tax that’s only applicable to Getaway confirmations (so it wouldn’t apply to my exchange)? And then in additional there’s a nightly resort fee of $22/night regardless of whether it’s a getaway or an exchange?
Should I call Interval to clarify or the hotel? I just want to make sure there are no surprises.
Thanks!
