My son wants to do a family long weekend in Feb. We have never been. It's the only Hyatt Resort we haven't seen. He will have a 1 yr old and almost 3 yr old by Feb. Is the lazy river and pool heated. It seems like a great place for children. Is it worth a try? Pros and cons. Thank you.

For a long weekend, sure! I'm not sure about the lazy river and outdoor pool temps. But, they do have an indoor pool too. Beautiful grounds, nice activity center too.

Outdoor and indoor pool are connected, heated (sort of). Two pool slides. Lazy river not heated. Camp Armadillo is fun for young ones. Probably will be chilly in February, but there are fire pits which are enjoyable. You will need a car if you plan on going downtown to the Alamo and/or Riverwalk. Or New Braunfels, Wimberley, Luckenbach, or Fredericksburg. I think the Hyatt Golf course is open, if that is an interest. There is a great Mexican restaurant, Viola’s Ventana, very close. Outdoor seating with heaters and a playground for the kids.

Thanks for info. The lazy river was the big draw but the kiddos will need it heated. We will pass on it for now. Appreciate the help

Well, we ended up booking Maui for 2 weeks in Feb. With the SW fares so incredibly low, it seemed silly to go somewhere else!

One year they had the lazy river heated because they were working on the indoor pool - so apparently they have the ability to heat but choose not to on a normal basis. But we go a lot in the winter and find plenty to do. Indoor pool and hot tub, indoor slide, smores at the fire pit, etc.

SeaWorld is close by. I don't know if it closes seasonally.

I would love to stay there again. Beautiful grounds, lots of places to walk around. We had a blast. It was just the two of us.
