We have the Wii already. My adult son bought it for his father.

Thinking of buying the Wii Fit for Xmas but would like input from those who have bought this.

Thank You

Not worth it if you are already exercising and considered pretty fit...its boring to me, but if you want a low impact workout where you don't feel alone..its a helpful different type of tool and fun.

My daughter and her husband have the Wii Fit and they enjoy it a lot. They say it provides a pretty good workout.

I plan on getting Wii fit for my kids (9, 6 and 4 for Christmas) I've had a number of friends recommend it.

Bored...

I became bored with it quickly. Still enjoy the games when playing with others though.

Well for me, I already work out 6 times a week and have considerable stamina...I was to advanced for it to truly get me up to a level of true calorie burn.

However, my kids Loved it!

I just bought the Wii Fit as one of the "family xmas gifts". Neither my DH or myself "work out", and maybe this will be a fun way to get started. My colleagues who have the Wii Fit have nothing but positive comments for it. I know my kids will get a kick out of using it....and watching Mom and Dad struggle through the workouts. :p

Those who now do little or no excercise will benefit from it. Those who are active doing other fitness activities (running, swimming, biking...) won't like it so much.

My sis-in-law who hardley moved at all got it and loved it. My wife bought one for us and after an initial "new" period, I can't say I've seen in out and set up in several months. Sort of like buying the treadmill for home and using it to hang laundry.

Your mileage may vary.....

Wii Fit...

One can easily get around "the moving around a lot" on many of the exercises on the Wii Fit. It's so sensitive that just a slight shift of the weight of the feet will do.

My seven year old granddaughter was thrilled to get a Wii and Wii Fit. Then she saw her competitive parents and cousins push and out skill her and now she's reached the point where she doesn't want anything to do with it. She won't even play the games with me at my house anymore which was the main reason I bought it. I hate that.

The Wii is deceptively marketed as a fitness product. It most certainly is not. Best bet to get fit is to get into a real exercise program at your local gym or "Y" or just start walking two miles every day. If you like to play games it is just one more console to consider. It is certainly very popular and many people like the games.

We have one, bought it the day it came out and both DH and I use it a lot. I also walk 3 miles most mornings and do other exercises but I like the wii fit too, especially on rainy days or when I can't walk for some other reason.

I bought one to help me with rehabilitation after knee surgery. It's not a substitute for a "real" exercise program, but in my case, it's helped considerably. Friends who come over enjoy it because it's more than just a mindless video game. If purchased on sale, it's worth it.

I don't think there are sales but it may be the price is lowered at times on game systems. I think the Xbox was advertised for $199 this week somewhere.

Sometimes you run into special package pricing where extras are added.

The Wii Fit is $89 if you can find it. Ebay prices are $120-130 but I would rather buy from a store in this case.

I use my Wii Fit along with my elliptical and have lost over 20 lbs so far. I've heard all the people say that it doesn't do anything that you couldn't do by yourself. While that may be true--I won't do it by myself. I like that it gives you points and that you have your own "trainer" and it tracks your progress. I do the strength training and yoga and it's a nice addition to the cardio I've already incorporated with the elliptical and walks with the dogs. I love it.

It's not going to make you do something you don't already want to do. I enjoy yoga and the strength training exercises but they don't replace going to the gym or getting on our elliptical.
