Founders member booking within discount/upgrade window for at least 25 years, so well aware of how it works. Been watching Bonnet Creek for a 2/17 to 2/21 reservation for several weeks, although 1 and 2 bedroom deluxe units showed as available, attempts to book either always led to never ending circle or the 'oops' message (these were test bookings that I terminated after going through enough steps to see that it would not work). Last week I got the idea of checking if it was bookable in two consecutive bookings and it worked, I was able to make a 2/17 to 1/19 booking and a 2/19 to 2/21 booking (same size units) and not a 2/17 to 2/21 booking (again same size units) (and these were again only test bookings that were terminated before going through all of the booking steps).

Yesterday things changed and a 2/17 to 2/21 booking was possible – at midnight it entered the 2 month discount/upgrade window. Alas, at midnight I could book it but it did not offer the discount or upgrade! After attempting it several times I checked Ocean View and the discount/upgrade was offered there. Back to Bonnet Creek and still it showed only full points only. Then I started getting the endless circle and occasionally the 'oops' message and then it allowed me to put in the start date but all other dates after were crossed off and not selectable as ending dates. Deleting cache and history and etc. and rebooting my computer had no effect and going incogneto also gave same results. All this time I could see inventory being reduced as others made reservations presumably using their discounts and upgrades.

Finally about 12:30 things magically fixed themselves and the discount and upgrades were offered but alas, the only inventory left was a 2 bedroom deluxe – MOBILITY, so I booked 2/17 to 2/19. That would be OK for a single stay but I am planning to stay at Bonnet Creek from Dec. 28 until Mar. 5 this winter and I have 2 bedroom deluxe units booked (nearly all of them at my discount and upgrade) from Dec. 28 to 2/17 – going to a MOBILITY unit would necessitate a room change.

Now you are going to tell me that it was my computer's fault - but why then was I getting the same results when I attempted to book with my smartphone???

My plans forward are to continue to book 2 bedroom deluxe units for the remainder of my stay; keep checking for a 2 bedroom deluxe unit for 2/17 to 2/19 to replace the MOBILITY unit; and keep booking 2 bedroom deluxe units for the remainder of my stay. If I cannot book a 2 bedroom deluxe for those dates, perhaps they will have pity on me and let me stay in the 2 bedroom deluxe, if not I may just move to Star Island.

This is the first time since I became an owner (when it was Fairchild) that the discount and upgrade offers were not available when they are supposed to be and in this instance it appears it only happened at Bonnet Creek as they were offered at Ocean View when I checked it.

What the issue probably was, is there were a single 2 BR unit available 2/17-19 and a separate one available 2/19-21 but not one single unit available 2/17-21 concurrently.

I have had stuff like this happen many times.

Why it cleared up? Maybe someone cancelled and rebooked, maybe VIP upgrades kicked in and freed up a unit. You never know. Just be glad you got what you were looking for and don't have to change rooms.

Thanks for your comments Floridaman, but you misunderstood - the discounts/upgrades did not show until about 12:30 when they should have shown at 12:00 - I actually booked a 2 bedroom deluxe at about 12:01 and then realized that the discount/upgrade option never showed up and it had been booked at full points. Anyway by the time the discount/upgrades showed up at about 12:30 the only thing available was a 2 bedroom deluxe Mobility and only available for the 2 nights, so I booked that - and it will require me to change units on 2/17 and then again on 2/19 as I plan to continue to book 2 bedroom deluxes - unless they decide to keep me in the 2 bedroom deluxe unit even though my reservation for 2/17 to 2/19 is for a 2 bedroom MOBILITY.

As I stated in my post - the discount/upgrade feature was available at Ocean View starting at 12:00 - but was not available until about 12:30 at Bonnet Creek. Very odd...

I would bet they will let you do this. They don’t want you to have to move rooms either, it’s more housekeeping for them.

Best guess is that there are back end routines that run at midnight at the beginning of the 60 day discount window as @floridaman75 indicated. This is the day when free upgrades for VIP owners start processing. At a smaller, less popular resort like Ocean Ridge, that routine likely only takes a minute or two to complete. At a very large resort like BC, that back end routine likely takes 15-30 minutes to run in comparison. Just speculation on my part to be clear, but it would not surprise me if this was the case. I could ask my Wyndham IT contacts if needed. The other possibility was that there was some kind of hiccup with this back end routine running, which delayed inventory becoming available in a more timely manner (nothing is perfect).

I'm not even sure what we're talking about when we say Ocean View.
Sorry, spell check does not correct obvious errors - should have been Ocean Ridge - and the other should have been Fairfield. I think HitchHiker has the probable explanation as I did change browsers to Chrome Incognito mode with the same results and my understanding is that mode nullifies any cache or history problems.

Anyway, I was able to get discount and upgrade at Bonnet Creek at midnight last night just before the website shut down. So I now have continuous reservations from Dec. 28 to Mar. 5 at Bonnet Creek - all are discounted and upgraded to a 2 bedroom deluxe except Feb. 17 to 19 where I have a 2 bedroom deluxe mobility at full points. I knew all along that reservations around Valentines Day would be difficult to get. Of course, I will continue to watch for a 2 bedroom deluxe reservation for those 2 nights to replace the mobility unit, but if not I'm also sure that they will keep me in the same unit.

On Mar. 5 I will be leisurely heading back to Michigan - stopping at a couple of Wyndhams on the way. Then off to Hawaii for 5 weeks.

At 12:01am of Dec 16, I had the same experience with Grand Desert. I found if you booked from the "dashboard" the discounts showed. If you attempted to book from the monthly calendar, they did not. I'm a hybrid owner and for the last couple of weeks, I can only book resale from the dashboard. A resale from the monthly calendar fails with an error message.
