We were getting ready to head home to Ontario on Wednesday from our mobile home park, but it looks like we will need to stay for the next little while. A horrible storm passed through about 6:30 p.m. and caused damage to our mobile home. Luckily, there was very little damage inside, just some bent storm shutters and one window with leaking and torn screens. Our carport and lanai have massive dents in the steel roof.
We were out for dinner during the storm, and our windshield is smashed by the larger than golfball hailstones, along with massive dents in the car roof and sides. Luckily no one was hurt in our park.
It will be a long day on the phone tomorrow, trying to reach our insurance company.

Glad no one was hurt. We had strong winds this last week in our area and our daughter said it was so windy in her neighborhood that they moved their kids’ twin mattresses down from upstairs and they all slept on the first floor huddled together.

Just a quick update after the hailstorm on Monday. We were finally able to get through to a company that replaces windshields. They are coming out today to replace ours. After hours on the phone yesterday, I finally got a callback from our insurance company and we now have a claim number, but I have no idea when an inspector will come to assess the damage. We now plan to leave on Friday, and our neighbours, who look after our house, will walk over when the insurance company sends someone out. The agent I spoke to said they figure they will have about 1000 claims!
