I have stayed at the Mayan Palce, Puerto Vallarta last year, Do you know if they established a Hot Spot where you can connect your laptop this year. Last year they did not and if anybody knows I would appreciate your response.

Cost is 50 pesos per half hour, 80 pesos per hour and 400 pesos for the week.

They are working on a network that reaches the rooms, but it is not available yet.

The location of the Internet Cafe is in the Grand Mayan building closest to the Mayan Palace - near the elevators.

Speeds seemed OK, as there were people using cameras and Skype to converse with family members at home.

I just got back from the Grand in NV. They have WIFI, but it is not free - it cost my son $60 for the week. He discovered it while we were all sitting around the pool waitng for our rooms on Saturday. We used his computer during the week.

The salesman that took us on a tour told me that they had computer access in the rooms at the Grand. I specifically asked him because the model had a computer that was plugged in on the sofa table against the wall. We took the tour the week before we stayed there. They did not have internet access in the unit(s) we had. We had taken a patch cable in case we needed to plug in rather than have WIFI.

Folks,

You're not reading the message correctly. The question relates to the Mayan Palace in Puerto Vallarta NOT Nuevo Vallarta. They are diff resorts and separated by 10-15 miles.

I would also like to know if there is wifi in Puerto Vallarta.

Sorry about that. I misread it and just got bvack from PV & NV. I think the only MP that has free WIFI is in Puerto Penasco. BUT, if you get a room in the streetside building near the Westin, I heard that you can use theirs. The password was Westin.

There is an Internet Cafe at the Marina - just past the first restauarant that has beer & shots. If you buy coffee, they give you a 1 hour declining balance WIFI card. Joan told me about that when we met in PV. She was staying at the MPPV.
