why no Marriott Vacation Club in Italy?

- Marriott Manor Club - 3 weeks platinum, 2 weeks at Marriott Beachplace Towers, and 1 week at Marriott Canyon Villas
Might have something to do with the fact Marriott has very few hotels in Italy.
Take a look at Starwood ... they've got some beautiful hotels in Italy, but no timeshares.

I remember going to Italy and that the government has alot to say about room rates there--I was there twice (before the euro) and it was very expensive there compared to other Mediterranean countries.
Also, I have a good friend who is from Italy, who has said that the legal system takes a backseat to wheeling and dealing--which can discourage foreign entities from wanting to deal with the less-than-straightforward system.
