Why did I wait so long to visit Westin Kaanapali?

With the upgrade in star options for an Oceanfront (176,xxx vs 148xxx) last year we stayed 21 days consecutively in the same 1 bedroom IV via star options (also used our SVV 2bedroom 81,000 staroptions) rather than changing room every 7 days.

Did you book 8 months out at midnight Eastern, three weeks in a row, and then call Owner Services to request to be in the same unit?

I always thought that SOs could book a week at a time except at 90 days out when they could book less than a week. I have only booked with SOs a few times and that was many years ago. Maybe the rules have changed since I looked, or else I never knew the rules to begin with. Thinking of acquiring more SOs so wondering how it all works. Thanks!

They changed that 30-days rule a long time ago. SO bookings made at 8mis out can be any length from 1 to 21 days starting and ending on any day of the week.

No I did not have to do it right at midnight, I just kept searching for 21 consecutive days and it was available and I had the star options and booked it in 1 bedroom and based on 1 reservation we are put in the same room for entire reservation, had to find one that had 21 days available, not 3 reservations of 7 days each. This year I could only find 13 days in a row in a 1 bedroom but I requested to be put in same room to combine two reservations (I arrived yesterday) and they did.
